Does Anyone Want Liverpool to Win the League?
Anyone?
And if you do - why?
And if you do - why?

Re: Does Anyone Want Liverpool to Win the League?
Their year was about four years ago, when they spectacularly failed down the stretch. OTOH, what else does Liverpool/Everton have to live for? Not too much, TBH.
So I'm torn.
I'll hope Fulham escapes relegation and Chelski beats both man camps and the reds.

Re: Does Anyone Want Liverpool to Win the League?
Yes I do
Reason: just because.
My first ever football kit as a kid was a Liverpool 'Candy' one from the early 80s.
When you grew up in a shit southern town, like i did, with no football team, you supported Liverpool or one of the London teams. As my parents weren't part of the London diaspora, I started following Liverpool. Then there were a few bad years following United in the mid 80s.
Then in 1993 I went to my first match, West Ham Vs Millwall, and that was that!
I could have been a fucking Spurs or Chelsea fan. The horror.
Thing is I had no direction, my parents were more into rugby. In hindsight I should have followed Arsenal. They had a lot of Irish players at that time.

Re: Does Anyone Want Liverpool to Win the League?
Anyway, I don't think Liverpool's recent blip, if you can call it that (two draws?) Is down to "choking" it
They've just been hit hard with injuries to the defence, and letting Clyne go was a mistake. But, he wanted to go.
This is the time of the year when a squad's depth is tested. And I think City are marginal favourites.
I mean, ffs, Liverpool have only lost once all season!!!
I like Jürgen, and he has experience of winning two titles, with Dortmund, against a superior club, Bayern.
It's great isn't it?!

Out of the top six I'd prefer Liverpool win it over everyone except Spurs.

I do.
Can't ever see it happening, and agree with Deadlegs about the stupid overreaction to us 'choking'. Think it'll be tight, but think Citeh will pip us to post. Spurs can fuck off.

I’m enjoying the excuses creeping into Liverpool’s title talk.

I do think that going for the underdog has a big role to play here.
I have tipped City to win, but i just hope the reds get there.
To the average punter, it will of course mean that money can't buy everything.

Have you noticed the excuses creeping in? Is that how champions speak?

Fuck Liverpool football club....fuck 'em up the arse with a spikey stick.
Lets concentrate on the real story of this football season.... the rise and rise of Manchester United.
If...no, WHEN we beat Fultham in 45 minutes we'll be 4th in the league and snapping on the heals of those filthy bastard scousers.

Now about to drink more and watch the rest of a silly film with my boy; are you on the gear tonight?

Fuck I hate that Fergie Ass Kissing phrase....
That said, I'm less keen on the game against Manure than I was two months ago.

Try not being so much of a mile, Meatfree.
I can appreciate you following Liverpool, from over there in Alan Partridge, but there's no point in trying to emulate the Scouse hatred of Ferguson.
Whatever next? Dipping into a bin for your Sunday tea?

Re: Does Anyone Want Liverpool to Win the League?
The week following next Sunday will decide the title, I reckon.
City will win their two games, with Liverpool winning their game in hand at home to Watford.
That puts Liverpool three points behind.
So, they go away to Everton and United. They have to win one and draw the other to be leading by a point.
Of course, City still have to go away to United later in March.

Yes Lincs, there’s a Liverpool supporters club here in Perth, they had Bruce Grobelar here a couple of weekends ago, nice friendly guy.

I don't want it to go down to goal difference, I know that. Not after yesterday's match....
