I drink entire bottles of wine and drive my Car around and don't give a fuck. Granted I'm 6'9. But still.
I don't want no Commies in my car. No Christians, either.

I don't think I know anyone who drinks and drives. At least not for the last decade or so.

If drinking and driving means drinking any alcohol and driving then everyone I know does it.

Drunk driving is very different though and I don’t really see anyone do that anymore, but we’re all old and have outgrown going out and getting drunk more than every once in a great while.

I occasionally have a small glass of wine, and drive afterwards. Never more than that though.

Same here, probably only 1 person I know doesnt seem to give a fuck about it and he is an alcoholic and lives in the bush in the middle of nowhere. Everyone else I know is pretty paranoid about it. I will only have 1 drink if I’m driving otherwise I leave the car at home our limit is .05, significantly lower than the US I beleive. The blood alcohol level for the first three years of your drivers license here is 0% so the kids all are worried about driving even if they were drinking the night before, which is a really good thing.

People still get caught and the drunk driving accidents still happen, but nothing like it used to be.

Last time was 2 years ago after an excessively boozy brunch. I really should not have been driving. But it was brunch drunk and still light at 17.00. So I think it was legal. Still I took the beach road.

Me and all. More than a few times I stupidly drove while way over the limit.

Not now. Couple of wines on empty gut and I'll not do it. With food it's ok, but no more than two.

That 2 drinks over the normal time it would take you to drink it would put you over the limit. Two shots taken immediately would put you at exactly .05 for a 170 lb male. After an hour you’d be .03.

It depends if Andy means a pint of beer.

Two pints of normal strength beer would be 5 units.

If it takes on average an hour to pass a unit.

The problem is that there is no such thing as exactly, very few people are exactly 170 lb males, it also depends on metabolism, liver function, food in the stomach, medications, etc etc.

A large male can probably get away with two standard drinks in the first hour and 1 per hour after that but is isn’t an exact science. The other problem is that very few people know what a standard drink is and dont usually drink a standard drink. The easiest is your example of two measured 30ml shots. But a standard stubby(small bottle) of beer is usually a bit more than 1 standard drink depending on alcohol content, a pint can be more than two standard drinks, A glass of wine of average strength is generally quite a bit smaller than people would usually pour for themselves and the alcohol content is very variable, most restaurant pours are about 1.5 standard drinks. Etc.

I have no idea if Andy weighs 170 lb but it still seems nutty that he’d be over the legal limit drinking a couple of beers over a reasonable timeframe.

There’s a bar here that has a breathalyzer on the wall, which is pretty fun to play with. I’m suspicious of its accuracy though. Our usual drinking affairs these days are happy hours every week or two. I’d say it’s pretty normal for me to have 4 16-ounce pints over 2-3 hours which puts me under the limit, but I can drink a lot.

Mutha is impervious to the influence of alcohol, because he is actually a robot and pisses out the booze through a hollowed out USB cord.

The pearl-clutching angst over unorthodox lifestyles is just to generate a response for his VR files.

In all fairness, I believe mutha is 6'5".

It was kinda fun tying one on Friday night in Melbourne. We didn't drive anywhere. But I was quite wooly the next morning. We ate next to nothing Friday night due to concerns about the thunderstorms heading our way on the uncovered rooftop bar. We just didn't order quickly enough.

I can also drink a lot, but I have a 2 and done rule when it comes to driving. Maximum 3 if it's a 4+ hour event. I plan ahead and uber everywhere though, it's never an issue.

Two of my best friends drive drunk frequently. It's becoming a pointy issue in our friendship.

Just simple science really. I'm a 6'5", 250 lb, white, male who has a drink or two every day or so. Of course I can drink a lot.

I am amused by the pearl clutching of the churchladies though, imagine people scared to walk on sidewalks when there might be people out driving with BACs lower than the legal limit. This is probably where we should bring up Leela's bubbles.

I should have explained it better. 2 beers of full strength Coopers in an hour would be my maximum I’d have and still drive. 6% alcohol per drink, yeah any more would put me over 0.05%. Not worth my job and my license.

But you know that your actual level of impairment has nothing to do with how frequently you drink, right? You might learn how to not show that you are affected - and to feel not affected - when you drink frequently, but it doesn't make your blood alcohol level any lower or your reflexes and judgement any less impaired.
