And to think Brazil spent all that money, murdered street children, let FIFA plunder them for this???

The Brazilians showed no spine, they just threw the towel in, gave up, pathetic!

Say what you will about the Germans, they would have never given up like this.

Everybody raving about how good the Germans are should remember their games against Ghana and Algeria. If the Dutch make the final you can be pretty sure that Van Gaal will have his team well prepared. If its Argentina then you have to fancy the Germans. Come on Holland

i hope its Holland vs Germany

Funny thing is the Brazilians can't hide,
they still have to play the most pointless game in football.
Play off for third place.
Let's see how the fans are behind their team at that match.

The Brazilian football ego needed this.
An Argentina world cup win will stick the knife in.

And i bet Neymar is even a bit happy he avoided that.

Well today the chermans played worldclass football so why should somebody bother with the algerian or ghana game. We could also remember the Portugal game if you want to live in the past. Talking about the dutch..., they are only in semis because they cheated a penalty with Mexico at the end of the game and looked very bad the whole game with Mexico.
Argentina will reach the final. Holland never won anything.
Prost!

Portugal played with 10 men. Spain played with 11. An Argentinian supporter complaining about cheating is the ultimate in irony?

Brazil played with 11. Not sure what you are talking about but you seem to be very angry and already looking for excuses.
Thanks Germnay, that was just wonderful!!!!

I'm going to guess that there's not enough money in the world to have fixed the Brazilian team to lose at home in the WC.

What should be noted is that Klose is now
the all time leading WC scorer.

So, in Pole position.

I told you so -- Germany has the best team. They would have won even if Brazil had had Silva and that other super dude playing.
It is TRUE that Brazil gave up -- they gave up as soon as the score was 2-0.
It was interesting that Brazil dominated possession and shots on goal for the first 8 minutes of the match, but then that domination totally disappeared as soon as Germany scored the first goal.

Seriously, Germany just prison raped them and Brazil's players cry on each other's shoulders? Brazil is soft and lacks heart.

They're probably worried their bus will get rolled onto the door side by fans and set on fire later.

with all the man flu which is about to hit training camp
they might find it difficult to field 11 in the third place play off
it will be joyous if its against Argentina.

I had to do a double take when I finally saw the score this afternoon. Wow, what a dominating performance by Germany.

The Netherlands v Germany would be a great final. I was happy that Brazil were shown up for what they are. They were disgusting in the match against Colombia. I never imagined that they'd be beaten 7-1, however. I put €50 on Germany to beat them 4-0.

Prior to the match, there had been talk of Luiz being one of the players of the tournament. Presumably, those journalists and analysts had forgotten about him hoofing the ball out of play with twenty minutes left against Colombia. Well, last night he decisively proved that he is a clueless donkey.

Germany played well, but they were essentially playing against statues. Ireland will be playing this lot in Gelsenkirchen in October. They'll put eight past us. Needless to say, I won't be heading over to that match.

This world cup is weird. Brilliant but weird. Germany were fortunate to come through against Algeria yet look what they did to Brazil?

I'm still grieving over Colombia not making it through to this game then on to the final. They would've beaten Germany. Not keen on any of the ones left but I'll go with Argentina. Please (again) not Germany.

The BBC announcers repeatedly saying the game was out of reach even before the halfway mark was a bit annoying.

If it is possible for a team to score 5 goals and concede 0 goals in 45 minutes of wc soccer, then why is it impossible for the other team to come back in the same amount of time? It did look like the Brazilian team gave up at 0-3 though.

Because no team has ever come back from a 5-0 first half hammering?

Or, if they have, it was someone from the Turkish 2nd division, or some match inolving Bolton Wanderers from 1898 against the Royal engineers.

Yup, the ones in 1986 and 1990 were amazing.

Not.

Well, I remember 1990 was fucking awful, and only 1994 made it look any better.

I had Argentina to beat Brazil in the final.

This is why I now want Holland vs Germany.

As a neutral, Germany vs Argentina would not be very exciting.

That's what I was hoping for as well, but I'll take an Argentine win any day over any team.

Ya....
Gotta hand it to brazil, they TRIED to impose their game on germany, and it worked for about 5 minutes.
The coach should take more blame then the players.
It was fooolish, and there should of been some sort of backup plan.

I don't think any coach could have saved brazil from D. Luiz, Marcelo and Dante's performance last night. Haven't seen such poor defending since the battle of France.

The main talking point about the final was about the poor defending by Brazil, how many times did we see a telling pass or a goal made by an unmarked German in space?

No effort all all was made by some Brazilian's who had gone upfield to attack, to do some hard running to get back and help their defence and pick up an unmarked man, once they got behind some threw in the towel, pathetic.
