Will the USA get the 2022 World Cup?

It's common sense.

When it comes to FIFA, the US is like the hard-to-get chick who will flirt at the bar but won't go home to fuck.

FIFA knows the monetary potential. If I were running FIFA, I'd make sure the US and China were hosting the next two cups. Short-term graft seems to trump that though (see: Qatar).

Fuck that!

The US had it last in 1994 and it was a Shite tournament...

England last had it in 1966 and is the Home of Football...

England should have it..

I 100% agree with that ...

The Seppos have the World Series and the Superbowl every year, that is more than enough. Why should the US be given another World Cup if there "best athletes" play Roidball or Wankball anyways

To say it with your words: Fuck that!
With your Squad(s) you can't even win it if you play at home. Does 1996 ring a bell? Football is coming home... and died!

Yerbothdaftkunts. The '94 WC was an excellent tournament.

The Seppos have the World Series and the Superbowl every year,

That has nothing to do with it.

Why should the US be given another World Cup if there "best athletes" play Roidball or Wankball anyways

their?

Huge stadiums in place. Huge crowds in those stadiums. Most of the planet's population wants to visit/relocate to the US anyway, gives them an excuse. Games would be played at an optimum hour for spectators around the world. Our best athletes do choose to earn VERY large sums of money how they most easily can. And yet, the Yanks can compete on the football world stage, and will continue to ascend. Lastly, Russia may produce a forgettable experience for attendees, but a reliable result for FIFA. Qatar? Qatar will produce a joke of an event.

Look, I don't have to be davejewbet to understand that FIFA has understood that the WC must be moved around. And FIFA once understood that that meant moving the WC back and forth between Europe and South America. Then they got cute and set it in Mexico. Guess what? Wasn't cute enough. Next time around? USA. STILL NOT CUTE ENOUGH.

Next time? Asia. Nope, didn't get FIFA what it wants. Next time around? Africa, and France showed what good that did FIFA. The finals WERE all Europe! FINALLY FIFA gets its wetdream.. an all-Europe shite final. Cynical ass-wipe Netherlands hacking away at Spain for fucking ever.

So? You suggest Russia 2018 and England 2022. Yeah, FIFA is up your ass. Why don't you just hand the trophy to Germany, twice, right now? Unless you think Italy are in with a chance.

Yes Grammar Police I made a mistake... if you are fluent in my native language and you have our grammar down to a perfection, you can talk to me again....

Optimum hour my ass. East cost games would have to be played between noon and 3pm, west coast games between 9am and noon to be semi viewable for Europe.... and we all know that that won't happen.

What is this bullshit about the Yanks being able to compete on the world football stage? You guys won a game out of 4. I don't know if you saw a different US squad then me but in the games against Germany and Belgium they had a 6-3-1 system meaning 6 defenders, 3 defensive midfielders and one dude lurking around midfield. Most of the game time there were 9 guys in and around your own box. The only one who saved your ass was Howard and he will be to old in 2018... sorry to brake it to you but there will be no ascending for the US team in the future

Edited for grammar :P

What a bunch of idiots. USA alreada had a WC recently. Australia had the Olympics not long ago as well and has not much clue about football. There are several real good options to held the WC and England would be in a very good position despite their shitty national team. Italy, Spain, France, Turkey or Belgium and Holland together could easily hold the WC as well

Dear oh dear, we have had some crazy biased posts have we not on this topic havn't we?

The question was will the USA get the WC in 2022.

Will they get it?.........................I don't know.

Do they deserve it?......................It would be no doubt down to your own perspective.

Do they have purpose build stadiums now?...................No.

Would they host a good WC?..................No doubt yes.

The WC in Brazil so far has been much better than the one in USA. To held a good WC it isn´t only about infrastructure and the best stadiums to build. You need local people involved in that. We need to held the WC in countries where most local people really get involved with football!!!

Australia is too far away. Few would be arsed travelling to it. The time differences do not suit soccer's biggest market. It was shit watching the matches in the middle of the morning when it was held in the Far East. The USA is more convenient for Europeans, assuming that the FIFA gangsters won't countenance a European federation hosting it in 2022.

Italy, Spain, France, Turkey or Belgium and Holland together could easily hold the WC as well

Have you attended a sporting event in Italy recently? The stadia are in rag order. It would cost an absolute fortune to refurbish them.

Says the idiot who has attended neither.

I was actually around the WC when it was in Pontiac. Seemed like everyone was having a blast. I suppose it was a bit lacking in rioting and urine hurling though, which might explain why Sgt. Schultz didn't think it was any good.

ETA - I hope the US doesn't end up having anything more to do with the corrupt bastards at FIFA. Give it to some third world country that really, really wants it. Straylia sounds about right.

Australia is too far away from Europe, where the money is, Andy. I don't want to watch matches at 5am. It's shit enough having to watch rugby matches in the morning when they are held on the opposite side of the world.

I used to watch the FA Cup at 2 or 3 in the morning as a kid. It would be great for soccer/football in the region if we held the world cup. Would be hard to convince the FIFA head honchoes that though.

Australia is insignificant as far as FIFA is concerned. Qatar is a gateway to half a billion Arabs; Australia is not an adequate replacement. The US makes much more sense. It's a much bigger market where soccer's popularity is growing.

You missed my second question. How many South Africans watched the Brazil-Germany match?

I heard on the radio just now that that 14.7 million number doesn't count people who watched it on tablets, phones, etc, just TV sets. You have to add another 1.5 million - 2 million. Did 16 million South Africans watch the Brazil-Germany match? Was the World Cup competition in South Africa a failure?

I think the US would probably do a better job hosting the World Cup than Uruguay. But I don't actually want it here. Sporting events are pretty much always a money loser for the host country.
