Argentina won´t need extra time again to kick off these flatliners from the middle of Europe.
BTW, we will play with Costa Rica on wednesday!

Time for Belgium to live up to their pre tournament hype. I think it will be settled by one goal and Belgium will make it to the semi finals.

Good performance by the Argies. Did very well to spoil the game after the one goal, controlling the pace of the game throughout it, not allowing the Phlegms to have many opportunities.

Looking forward to the Semis.

Argentina have had an easy route to the semi finals.

The Dutch have not and they have displayed a hard edged winning streak which I think will be too much for the Argies. I am pretty sure that the Dutch will have the full backing of the locals since nobody likes Argentina.

In posting about sports you call the Argies 'Surrender Monkeys', did not the British do the same at Singapore?

Costa Rica may outplay England but they are not really tough opposition, neither was Mexico, which in reality is just an average team. In fact, The Netherlands struggled against the both of them and had to cheat against Mexico just to get through.

Meanwhile, Argentina played Switzerland (probably on a par with Mexico) and defeated a highly rated Belgium. A Belgium side who some predicted would win the World Cup. They made them (Belgium) look ordinary.

Anyway, why am I talking football with the English? They are clueless at the game, as evidenced by their shitty national team.

Of course he is, and he should be as the Fall of Singapore is one of the most embarrassing chapters in British military history, certainly more embarrassing than a bunch of young Argentine conscripts surrendering to professional soldiers in Las Malvinas.

Mexico and Costa reeking played way above themselves. Belgium, judging by todays game, were overrated and seemed to lack motivation. This is not a great Dutch team but they still should have won with something to spare. I was impressed by their attitude during the penalty shoot out. Heaven help us it we have another Germany Argentina final.

I think that most people accept that gamemanship is a big part of top level sport however watching two teams roll around like a bunch of fucking queers is undeniable bad for the game especially when you consider that the authorities, at that time, had one eye on the American market. The 1990 final was without doubt the worst ever. I will leave the final word on the matter to a female player since this type of behaviour if often associated with femininity

Yes, lets judge the Belgians on the one game they lost, rather than on the form they displayed coming into the tournament and on the tournament itself. Face facts, Argentina did not let them play the way they wanted to play. Kudos to the Argies.

You are impressed by the Dutch attitude during the shoot-out? You mean the gamesmanship displayed by Krul?

...but making sure that the referee is aware that you have been fouled is 'winning' a penalty. Its a very fine line. Most top level sportsmen cheat but i cannot stand the histrionics that go with a minor altercation. This acting is certainly more common in latin culture and less so in the English speaking world with perhaps Germany being the exception. My cousin is married to an Italian and he defends this type of cheating as part of the latin machismo.

Fuck off. More moral indignation from the English. There are plenty, PLENTY of English divers. The problem for you lot is that your diving skills is not supplemented by actual footballing skills.

I was 8 years old in Argentina when he won the WC.

He was born poor, in one of the villas miserias. Child prodigy, played for Argentinos Jnrs then Boca. Has two brothers, I think, neither of which were anywhere as good as hi (one named Hugo, I think) One of them played in Japan, I remember that.

Anyway, played for Barcelona, had his leg broken there by a thug from Sevilla, I think. Got transferred to Napoli. Won Serie A with then and the UEFA Cup, is a legend there.

Went to the 90 world cup injured, and Argentina still managed to make the Final where they were cheated out of it by a diving German.

I think he came.back to.Argentina where.he played for his.beloved Boca Jnrs.

Came back for the 94 world cup. Did well there before testing positive for ephedrin, I think or something else.

He also tested positive for cocaine as well.

Managed Argentina.but a bettrr.motivator than tactician.

Opinionated not always.right.but not always wrong either
