Ikea Swedish Meatballs
Are they worth the trip?
They're 15 miles away. Are they like "To die for". I need to buy a shelf anyway so I thought I might go with Pam tomorrow have lunch and get the shelf.
Or I could just order the shelf online.

It's ages since I had them. I liked them back then.
But you should go out with Pam anyway (assuming she already has plans to go/wants to go)

Yeah. I'm going to plan it for today. Even if we don't buy anything we can at least have lunch together.

Horsemeat was found in the meatballs. Google it. TemporaryHandle2 is a huge fan of Ikea dining.
It's the kind of meal my wife would "make" me eat, rather than one I'd willingly choose. She would get swept up in the faux Swedishness of it all and get 3 desserts.

Yeah. The horsemeat thing didn't happen in the US though. I remember I was working for a company that did the testing on that at the time.
They also did forensic testing in the UK. I was surprised to learn that the UK has cut back on the number of forensic tests it does as a cost saving measure.
That seems kind of odd. Don't you want to make sure you've really got the right culprit?

It’s junk food, like McDonald’s.

If I eat junk, it'll be extruded lambeef on pita and slathered in tahini.

They are not worth the trip.
The shelf is not worth the trip.
The meatballs, plus the shelf, plus getting your arse out of the house for a couple of hours is well worth the trip.

What’s wrong with horsemeat?
Anyway, Lidl sells meatballs which are indistinguishable from the IKEA ones for a much more pleasant price.

That's good to know. They have Lidl here. They have everything here.
Orlando had gotten much more cosmopolitan in recent years. I'm really impressed.

I would travel 15 miles to eat horse flesh.
I would not travel 15 miles for plain ol' meatballs. Swedish, italian, or otherwise.

There's a restaurant in NYC that only does balls.
It's pure genius. You pick your balls, Pick your pasta and pick your sauce.
That's all they do. I'm dying to try it.
