Also? They managed to come up with a design for the franchise interiors that resembles a truck stop bathroom. It must be the ugliest restaurant chain in the world.

I wrote about it elsewhere. There's one near my house and I was famished, stopped in for a grilled cheese and fries.

Threw it all in the garbage after two bites. Gag-inducing shit. This from one who gets Egg McMuffins (no meat) four or five times a year, and Del Taco twice as much. Not a food snob.

Yeah. Not a huge fan. Steak and Shake is better and they've got frozen custard too.

I eat McDonald's occasionally. Its burgers are far superior to Five Guys.

On the occasions that I've tried Shake Shack, I thought it was good.

Sometimes I just crave a Big Mac. It's just nostalgia. Afterwards, I always feel that I should have eaten somewhere else, but it's the fast food of my childhood. Being taken to McDonald's would have been a treat for me and my siblings. I had one for my dinner yesterday - so that's the craving satiated for six months.

Five Guys is terrible and very overpriced.

The Whopper really is a meal in itself. You don't need anything else to go with it.

Agree once in a while I just jones a big mac.
Particularily memorable ones in Amsterdam and Copenhagen.
I also used to get one every 3 weeks or so in Taichung as Amerigun fast food options were more limited there in the 90's.
Also KFC which I won't even begin to discuss the levels of awfulness here in NA is lots better in Asia (but its also considerably more expensive).

Yeah I was not aware how nasty KFC can be. They cook and serve all chicken regardless of how spoiled it is.

I had a superb hamburger yesterday at Wolfgang Puck's and a pizza as good as at any legendary coal fired place in NYC. Wolfgang Puck is very under rated -and untouched by any MeToo# scandal.

These upstart hamburgers are about 20% better than a fast food one for about double the money. To get an edible hamburger, a place like Chili's or Applebee's is the entrance point. A shitburger like a dollar McDonalds one is actually a great bargain for what it is.

I blame the Food Channel for inciting the gullible to fetishize and fiercely debate bog standard food like pulled pork sandwichs and hamburgers like they're fine wines. It cracks me up.

Wolfgang Puck is underrated? Er, ok.

Five guys is my burger of choice when I want a burger. Peanut oil is the secret.

Wolfgang Puck is sort of Like B B King. He was such an innovator that he's sort of forgotten; like his casual california/med mashup being absorbed into the mainstream or the idea of doing high end pizzas. Def. no seats at the bar at Wolfgang's during the hurricane. I ate 4 meals there.

Peanut oil allows for high heat to get a good char. We bought pricey cold press peanut oil from Amazon and went thru an 8 oz bottle in 2 weeks. It def. smells more peanutty then reg. peanut oil, tho.

BK has the better burger, but the diet coke and fries are a let down -as was their cheeto's deep fried mac an cheese. I have never wanted to believe in a food product as much as that one. So for a total experience, McD.

Hardee's is also worth a look in. Their (probably not really) organic burger is almost like a real diner one.

Wendy's has too much lettuce and forces you into the russian dressing corner.

I eat Wendy's chilli and their apple pecan salad for lunch all the time when I am on the road.
It's good.

Fast food burgers are all shit. Arguing over which one is the best is a waste of time, they are all garbage. If you're going to have a burger, either make it yourself or get it at a bar that makes a decent one. Any mass produced frozen patty made by a 15 year old who doesn't know or care what they're doing is going to suck ass.

Our cooks - we pay them shit wages and they generally don't know the difference between medium rare and well done. Our ambiance? It's a fucking shake shack. Fuckhead. Our bragging about the ingredients? We hope some mong out there is willing to pay an extra buck or two for our marketing. Bonus: We haven't even pissed off the gays yet. Yet.

Is Vienna beef a made up thing like Corinthian leather?

Why would urban Vienna be known for their stockyards?

Yep. My kids dragged me to one, and the environment was just horrible. It seemed to be designed to be uncomfortable in every way - on the bum, the eyes, and even to just eat. I couldn't wait to get out. I don't remember anything about the burger. The red and white took dominated my brain.
Pass the wine...

Wolfgang Puck is one of the top stalls in almost any airport concourse in the world.

Like Howard Johnson's Mac & Cheese, it also used to be available in your grocer's frozen food section.

I knew a guy years ago who sold ducks to Puck. Quackless ones, unlike a certain missie I know.
