I'm not sure I've ever had marang, even though it's native here. Did you like it? I could pick some up at my local fruit stand.
It was very sweet but had a funky odor as those fruits in that family do.... Cempedak was more for the non-faint of heart.... Almost durian like... but I liked durian so had no problem with cempedak.

I would link to a Utube video of a dude opening and eating a marang, but I have such terrible issues linking and posting vids and pix on here I just gave up.

I guess I won't bring any to the office then. Maybe next time I see it out in the provinces I'll try it.

Jack fruit has been popping up on menus all over a veggie, meat substitute…I had a really good BBQ jack fruit burger, the texture works

When i ate my first rollinia in Samoa I thought I had died and gone to heaven it was that good.

Scrubb, are you needing rhubarb? Mom and i have lots this year. Let me know.
Hey, nice of you to offer - but the community garden where I have a plot has a big bunch of rhubarb for anyone to take, so I'm set. Thanks!

Wood apple
I saw a vid of a guy eating one in Sri Lanka... I have to say it looked like dirt mixed with roots inside... Totally unappatizing. He said it tasted great. So what exactly does it taste like, cuch?

wood apple by it self not a great fruit. wood apple shakes (usually made with coconut milk) are quite tasty though.

elephants love eating wood apple.
