Coravin System

I'm thinking about getting one. Does anyone here have any experience of them?

No but it's an interesting tool. I wasn't aware of it before.

I had wine served from one in Stavanger I think.

I didn't actually see them pouring my wine, but they were using it on others, so I presume on mine too.

Saw it being demonstrated in Harvey Nicks in Edinburgh too.

I remember thinking it was expensive.

It's €299 here, but I get it from the UK for €225 and if I buy it through the business from there it'll be €187. It is expensive, but over the last couple of years I've been buying more expensive wines and it seems like a good way of being able to drink them without having to go through an entire bottle over a couple of days.

I have some experience with them. What do want to know? They can be good for checking if a wine is ready to drink yet. The pour is annoyingly slow but you'll get over that. They are expensive but it's a one-time cost. They don't need parts or regular service or anything. I'm seeing them more often at tasting rooms and from vendors.

Would it work well for my Ripple?

Trixie - does glass 6 taste the same as glass 1? For me, the interesting thing about good wine is how it changes after opening.
Testicles have an interesting texture -- I think because of the epidydimis -- but they don't have a lot of flavor of their own. VinnyD

I'm currently enjoying a glass of Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, Pauillac, 2ème Cru Classé, Bordeaux 1982 whilst watching Power. If you're an oenophile, the Coravin is a must.
