Curry feast

Made a curry feast to nite of oat idles, cauliflower kedgeree, sour bean Dahl and garlic prawns

Oh and the plastic beacheque plates were because the dishwasher was full

Nice spread. Can you share the recipe for your bean dish? I thought it's just bean curry.

Something like this one ct

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup pigeon peas (arhar dal or toor or tuvar dal) or use red lentils (dhuli masoor dal)
• 2 cups water to cook dal
• 1 heaped tbsp. tamarind purée/extract*, adjust to taste.
• 1 cup mixed vegetables. Select from any of these; onions, bhindi/ladies fingers (okra), potatoes, aubergines, drumsticks, radish, green peppers, beans, a few spinach leaves etc. A few or all of these can be used, depending on availability. I prefer to hav
• A couple of green chillies, slit lengthways
• 1/2 tsp. turmeric powder
• 3 tsp. Sambhar Masala
• Salt to taste
• A handful of coriander leaves
• For tempering or tarka:
• 1-2 tbsp. oil
• 1/2 tsp. mustard seeds
• 1/2 tsp. cumin seeds
• 1/4 tsp. fenugreek seeds
• A large pinch of asafoetida powder
• 10-12 curry leaves
• 1 dry red chilli, broken up
