I say no, it won't go through, because the ice, even as it begins to melt, will cool the steel to the point at which it no longer melts whatever ice remains beneath it.

Definitely not a Russian accent, Jim. I thought they were Scandinavian, but I couldn't have guessed the country.

Ah, sweet youth!

I loved that second video. It reminded me of a time when I dived off a revetment into Lake Michigan in early May one year, then scrambled to climb out less than a minute later. The guy in the video says the water's not that cold, but of course he's got at least a little body fat to insulate him; I didn't.
