Yes I am very interested but will wait until the pc version comes out. I still go back into the original at times.

I always loved getting a big truck and then breaking into the airport early on and stealing the executive jet. I would fly around and get my pilots license before completing any of the missions.

I loved some of the base jumps you could do in San Andreas and then some of the street races were amazing. It was all the side stuff away from the main plotline that made it worth going back to all the time.

25 million copies they will sell of this game this year.

I wonder if Pez knows that her house is there in the game? You can walk up to her front door.

Well, i got it......
So far, a few hours in, its pretty bad a55.
The map is huge! Graphics are pretty insane. The radio stations are not as good, and so far, im not that impressed with the variety of cars, but im sure that will change.
Is does seeem a bit like playing the same game though. Im even having flashbacks to driving around certain parts of town.
I got a few hours in, and trusted the autosave, didnt save anything.
Looks like i get a clean slate.

Ive never played an online game with other people, so im looking forward to it going live in a few weeks.....
Im sure im gonna get dead a lot.

I'll be interested to hear how this is going in a month or two. I still love San Andreas but I thought the needy friends in GTA4 spoiled it. That got quite annoying in the mid game.

Have the radio stations ever been as good as the ones in GTA Vice city? Talk Talk's Lifes what you make it playing as you cruise around killing people. Everyone then caught on to the fact that there was big money being made in these games and they started asking for 6 figures sums for their music to feature.

My sons like it. Younger son said he forgot to save a lot so he had to go back. Older son just started playing today and was trying to jack a bus and couldn't get in. Then jumped out of a car when it went to the above view. I told him to quit playing in dork mode.

Mutha is going to be outraged at Sieve allowing children to play the game?

Probably half the people playing right now are under 18. All of them in single parent families. :D

I have no problem with it, to be honest though I've never met a parent who has young children playing the game, I'm always curious how they feel. As I think you'd suspect I'm no believer in the evil influence of video games.

I don't worry too much about the violence and sex and such. We talk about things like that so they know how I feel. At least they don't cuss so much when they are playing GTA or Black Ops. League of legends seems to bring out the major cussing.

Way to go remi, stereotyping single parents. Some people have poor judgement whether single or married.

I took my son on a motorbike tour of the San Andreas version of San Francisco. Made sure nothing violent happened and as a 4 yr old he loved just being able to explore such an environment. The golden gate bridge was great to fly around with a jet pack. They need to build in some parental locks

There is no PC version (AKA 'laptop version') out yet. And if/when it does come out your laptop is likely not powerful enough to play it.

But you could probably play an older version fine. Go here, it's an online games shop. Install the client from that page. Open it up, register an account, and from there look for 'San Andreas' or 'Vice City'. Pays your money and give it a shot.

I like the bit in San Andreas where you have to gain weight before you can get some woman to go out with you.

I've read one review that suggested V's tendency to both lecture players and treat everything with nihilist humour leads to narrative inconsistency and a cold, dead heart. But seeing as we mostly talk about games in terms of commercial rather than artistic success that's very much a minority opinion now.

In a year or so people will be able to talk honestly about it.

The dating part was a drag. Repetitive dates and you had to keep on going back within a short time frame to keep their interest.

I loved going and betting on the horses early on in the game and saving before every bet. Then you would walk out loaded and could buy every house, tattoo and clothes you wanted.

Hop in ladies.....
The only other GTA game ive ever payed is san andreas. V is the game on steroids and online.

I got the game for the online experience. Ive never played an online game before.
The 1st day i really couldnt get online, so i played offline and made some cash. Lost the character, but that was fine as i handnt gotten very far, and a do over was good.
Day 2 i was in good, and cracked out pretty hard..... Pretty much just explored and raced.
The game is pretty kool, and i was just starting to get into it.
I severly binged on thursday night into friday. Was pretty far by my standards, level 15.... Which had opened most of the game up, and unlocked some decent weapons, like i had just gotten grenades, which i was quite stoked about.

Walked away for a bit...... Went and got a headset so i could talk, which is/can be a huge part of the game.
Came back last night, and boooom!..... My character was gone!!! Though i still have my 100k, which is a nice chunk, which other have lost. I never bought any cars or property, and from what i understand, if i did, they would be gone as well.
After reading up, its an issue that a lot of people are having.

This is what ive read, and im no techie, so if anyone knows better what im trying to say, feeel free to speak up.....
The characters are stored on a server, and those servers are crashing, which means your data is not accessible.
Some people say the characters are still there, and will be available later...... When the server is back.
As long as you dont create a new character over it in the slot.
This is just rumour that most doubt, as rockstar games is quite mum on the issue, other then acknowledging it exists, and saying they are working on it.

While ya, you can just create anther player, and carry on, it does kinda suck not knowing if you might just loo5e it all again....
Since building up rep and money is basically the core of the game.

The whole online launch has been a me55, but then again, there are a lot of people trying to play.....
Rock* games says they didnt expect so much demand, which is kinda crap, since they had enough games on the shelves.
Im not sure how online games launch, and im sure they all have problems when the go live, but it kinda feel like the online launch was more of a beta test i had to pay to sign up for.

So, for now i wait and see if my dude comes back.... Though im not sure how long.

Many large companies still do not really know how to be prepared for a major online launch, see GTA, Diablo 3, SimCity, etc.

Though I don't code as much as I used to, my specialty is server engineering and I've spent a lot of time scaling online services. It's not easy but it's still surprising that there are so many spectacular failures.

Ya MF....
It is amazing these big launches keep bombing.
I remember reading a lot of grumbling about the simcity....
My friend got diablo, he loved the 1st versions, was really excited.
It was so flaky the 1st week he basically just quit playing.

Im amazed they can even connect everything to begin with, though, i guess it is just basically a really complicated telegraph message.
It wont even let me online now, and the internets rumour mongerings say they may of shut it completely for a bit....
Im sure the game is being floooded this weekend.

I was having fun, till it blanked.....
Though, it is nice to be back on the stew.

It's a hard thing to test and many subtle problems aren't apparent until you have millions of people playing the games.

Giving up is kind of silly though, stability problems usually get resolved within the first couple of weeks. If you've already bought a game you might as well wait a bit.

My friend who gave up on diablo wasnt much of a gamer..... He did finish the game, but hasnt looked at it since becuase of the issues......

As for me on GTA V, i left it alone all weekend, so far....
Not that im giving up, i just think it sucks to loose everything you gained.
Id rather keep playing/finish up the offline storymode, then get myself slighted pi55ed orf i lost my character again.

They can easily afford that.

I've yet to find an action-orientated online game that wasn't full of assholes. Assholes who are better than me at gaming, to boot.

Fuck it, I'm old. I'm only playing reissues and remakes these days. XCom!
