What will be the GOP's excuse in November?

Post by Citizen Baba » Sat Sep 22, 2012 4:15 pm

From glancing on here and at Fox, it seems the GOP is already prepping their talking points for a loss in November. For the party of personal responsibility and its adherents, a loss is always someone else's fault.

You need an "all of the above" choice.
This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

In November? Why wait till November? The election is already over. Therefore, I'll give you my excuse now: the problem is they held the election in September, apparently held it in some secret location, and didn't let anyone vote except the mainstream media, left-wing bulletin board bozos, and trained lab rats. (Yes, all three of those groups were considered separate entities for the purposes of this election.)

well, if you build up Obama as the worst president ever and 1000 years of darkness will follow after kenyan socialist's re-election, you would be a bit bitter after finding out that most of the voters still prefer that over your candidate's budget/healthcare plan....

Is this poll going to be printed in the NYT? What will the margin of error be, and what will you put down for demographics polled? 90% lap dogs, and 10% economic/social terrorists. Cant wait for the story to hit the front page on Monday, what will the headline read? You are submitting this right? If not, why? we could call it the stewbie poll, and after like two election cycles people will think what we say is truth!!! Kind of like how you believe everything in CBS polls or Rasspiss polls.

Submit it today, tomorrow its front page in the NYT!!! Should we start a poll, on what the headline should read for this poll?

There excuse will be that the majority of Americans are welfare mooching scumbags who hate Jesus and anything decent. Ironically, they'll be holding flags as they say this.

My guess is they'll blame Romney for not being conservative enough, that he was really a liberal sheep in wolf's clothing. Sort of like the dumped Bush as a real conservative as soon as he couldnt be defended by even the most partisan hack. That next time they have to nominate a teabagger.

They will blame the ignorance of the American voter. What other excuse could there be for the better candidate not winning other than that many voters lack the superior knowledge and capacity to assess candidates that Republican voters enjoy.

Oh...by the way....what is this asshole's plan for his next term? How come he doesn't have to put out an agenda? This fucking guy has no plan, hasn't been asked to tell us what his plan is, and the media refuses to demand any details about the plan he has for the next 4 years.

And yet, this all comes up empty for some reason. With 8% unemployment and $4 gas this fucking media whore has not been asked by anyone to tell us what he plans to do for the next 4 years.

He has time for The View and Whoopi but he has no time to talk to world leaders. Awesome. Just awesome.

I'd love to find out what the guy who actually has the position would do? Wouldn't that be a novel idea?

Of course, we need to focus more on Romney's tax returns and the completely legal nature in which he filed his taxes.

Bill O has the answer:

By Bill O'Reilly
A new Fox News poll contains some surprising data from the key swing states of Florida, Ohio and Virginia. Voters there apparently believe the economic policies of Barack Obama have helped more than hurt the economy. That is simply stunning.

Unemployment remains above eight percent, wages down big; national debt $16 trillion. And the annual deficit is now well over $1 trillion a year. And likely voters think President Obama's economic policies are helping? Again, it's inexplicable.
Now, last night I had a conversation with Laura Ingraham whereby I put out a reason why this might be happening but it's speculation, something I don't like to do.
We all know that the Internet now dominates the lives of many Americans. Millions of us are addicted to texting, entertainment web sites, gaming, is pretty much blocking out the world whenever we want to.
It's now possible to live in an alternate universe that is operated out of your home or in your hand. You never have to deal with reality. There's always some fantasy you can create.
Economic issues are boring and complicated. There is spin flying all over the place. It's very hard to know what the truth is unless you're out of work and then you know.
But to understand what's actually happening in the marketplace you have to pay attention. You have to read. Listen to news reports. For example my syndicated newspaper column this week is why America does not have an energy policy and how that affects all of us. You guys might read it on BillO'Reilly.com but most Americans will not.
Almost every person I know has a hand held Internet device American children and adults spend hours surfing the net. So you can see how our society has been dramatically impacted by high tech. In my opinion that's why this presidential election is so close.
32 years ago when Reagan ran against Carter there was no place to hide for the President. Jimmy Carter's economy was a disaster and so was his foreign policy and most Americans knew it.
But today we have $4 a gallon gas prices and people go, so what? The average American worker losing take home pay and many don't seem to care. The value of your home down dramatically, so what? I'll go on my computer I'll lose myself in the fantasy world.
About 30 percent of the American electorate is paying attention. The other 70 percent, distracted to say the least. And I believe that's what the polls are reflecting.
And that's "The Memo."

Yep. The new Republican mantra. Obama might win, but this is only because the American electorate lacks intelligence or at least information. If only they would stand in the light they would see the brilliance of Lord Romney.

Maybe it's just that the electorate in Florida is brighter than O'Reilly, which wouldn't be saying a lot.

I bet he thinks he can still bully them into changing their vote.

Saw the midday news, Fox is already freaking out about the Black Panthers in PA.

ETA - for the dems at least, I don't think it will be votER fraud so much as the machines were rigged (election fraud). I've been seeing those charges floating around for the past week or so. The right is using it too.

Interesting to note that in the 16 years since the inception of FOX 'News' the Dems have won the presidency 3 times, the Pubes OTOH have won only twice, both times squeakers. In the 16 years prior to FOX, the Dems won only once. The Pubes OTOH won 3 times, decisively.

Which leads me to wonder, if the election results are being swayed in any significant part by the media, are the Pube losses due to the success of the liberal media or the failure (perhaps even counter-productive effect) of the right-wing media?

Here is an updated list- I don't think they are in order of importance

1)The media selectively reported Romney's gaffes.
2)Fact-checkers were biased.
3)Hurricane Isaac hit the Tampa convention
4)Romney was too nice
5)Hurricane Sandy and Chris Christie
6)Obama won by “suppressing the vote.”
7)Romney wasn’t conservative enough.
8)Americans are basically ignorant.

Two of the 8 were acts of God
Does that mean God wanted Obama to win?
