Had a bit of time off so decided on an off season cruise of Barkely Sound & environs-it helped that the freighter I was taking had a 50% off special and weather has been glorious-it's something of a logistical challenge from Vancouver even though it's not far away.

I've posted similar photos of the same trip in the past but that was a fishing trip this was just sightseeing.

I didn't know they cruised to Bamfield. I drove there from Port Alberni one winter over the logging roads. We got lost about five times but eventually made it to Bamfield, and then back out on another logging road to Port Renfrew. It was nice except for the utter destruction of the center of the island.

Nice photos but I laughed when I saw your comments on two of them.

"Sad little galley" was actually one of the few that didn't make the onboard experience look like you were in a geriatric ward. All those white-haired passengers!

"Sad little grilled cheese" would have been happier if it were served properly, i.e., without ketchup drizzled over it.

Regardless, I'm glad that you enjoyed the cruise.

Looks like an interesting trip. How long did it take?

08:00 to 17:00.

The thing is you have to be on Vancouver Island the morning of your departure and that means overnighting in PA or some heavy driving first thing in the AM to make the boat.
