This is How You Spell Albacore

Post by Bill Barilko » Mon Aug 27, 2018 1:01 am

Don't know what happened to my first post of this subject.

Fished the Tornado with a group of like minded individuals-great group of anglers, very experienced and the Captain & crew of the Tornado were outstanding in every way I can't imagine better service or more dedication to putting us on the fish they even bait your hook!

Ocean conditions ranged from rough as guts to fair/some large swells but overall dying winds through the day.

Sadly I spent the first night spraying puke over the back deck/got no sleep to speak of so had a slow start to actually fishing.

Fish were scattered in small schools we'd catch one one the troll then maybe a live bait fish over & over no real hot bite at all-ended up with about 30 fish for 10 guys-the boat splits the catch evenly between anglers.

Also Westport is one of the dullest most god forsaken places I've even seen Rattdick used to post about Ephrata WA being a hellhole but I can't see it beating Westport with it's reeking docks and bellowing Sea Lions.

Looks good. I assume the first pic is the spoils of the catch?

Bennett's seems like kind of a ripoff.

I've never gotten seasick but I haven't been out on the ocean much either. I went out on a boat about the size of the Tornado out of Oregon a few years back and it was big smooth rollers all day. I just felt like I was still on the boat a few hours after hitting shore.

What's the dashboard pic mean?

Good to see you back Bill.

The fish look great.

Holy crap, that lunch cost about $50 in Canadian Pesos!
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

The first pic was from our 'group meal' not a bad meal just poorly made.

Dashboard is in kilometres that's how far I drove before/after the trip-I was actually falling asleep on the freeway driving home up through Seattle-ended up kipped out in some country suburb near Marysville.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yes everything is wildly overpriced there that's why I took the pic-the actual Oysters were decently priced and also the only edible part of the meal everything else was oversalted to the max.
I thought you had sworn off traveling south of 49?
In any event, if it's any consolation, Westport will be wiped clean on the next tsunami from the Juan de Fuca plate.
Did the crew bleed out the tuna in a big bucket of water?
Bled and stored in a chilled salt water system-the Best.
Transported home on salt ice arrived in perfect condition.
FWIW-The crew of the Tornado are an outstanding team the Best I've ever fished with-attention to detail second to none.
Even a cheap bastard like me tipped the deckhand $100 on a $620 fare.
