Hanoi on the 9th Jan
Bangkok on 23rd
Queensland on 6th Feb.
They are booked.
Thinking about Sri Lanka + 3 days in Dubai on the way home to UK.

Nothing after that until it gets cold and dark, again.

Likely nowhere further than Auckland. Maybe Australia to be burned alive in December for Christmas.

I need to save money and that won't happen if I plan any holidays.

I was hoping I could get to Canberra a couple of times as that would mean a mini trip to Sydney or Melbourne. But that's likely off the cards due to an idiot temporary manager.

According to the very preliminary plan I sketched out in my head in the last few hours, I'll be in southern Thailand for most of January, eastern Thailand and Cambodia with leela for most of February, then maybe Vietnam in March, northern Laos in April, Myanmar in May. Last three months of the trip then up for grabs: either south to Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, or west to India.

The only planned trip so far is as ben posted above. But I'm hoping to keep 2018's pace up. Also there are Aussie cousins over at the moment, who I'm catching up with next week. They're going to give me grief for not having been to Oz to visit all the rellies over there for far too long, I know.

Mexico x 2 or 3 probably. I would like to get back over to southern Africa but I'm not convinced that is going to happen.

Lots of domestic stuff. Gonna hike Mt Pulag in a few weeks. Then the usual beaches and mountains and jungles.

In February I'll be spending 2 days in Bangkok followed by 10 days in Nepal hiking the Annapurna Sanctuary.

No plans beyond that yet.

Munich
Brighton
Somewhere else in Europe for a week (Rome? Prague?)
San Diego maybe
Rochester, NY (work, yuck)

Hopefully more, but nothing else booked yet. I had vague plans to join Ben in SEA this spring, but I'm going to get eleventy billion fillings instead.

Nothing booked yet (not even tomorrow night’s hotel), but will spend another week or so during January in Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado, before heading back to Moscow.
Work trips to St Petersburg, Netherlands, London, maybe Sakhalin.
Hopefully some short weekend trips to glitzy, glamorous places such as: Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, maybe Sochi, maybe train to Vyborg and Helsinki, and possibly a half marathon somewhere in Eastern or Central Europe.
Would like to spend a week in May in Uzbekistan, but I’m having trouble convincing the wife there’s more to the place than blue tiles and plov. So May holiday remains unconfirmed.
2-3 weeks in northern England in July. And then Brunei from August to December (and beyond).

Sorry Lincs, I was thinking Slovenia. In Slovakia if you want to stay in the old part of Bratislava it might be best to book accommodation in advance, I started doing so after getting the last bed in the 6th hostel I visited, all the rest were full.

Tallinn 8/9/10 Feb
Les Arcs 20th Feb - 22nd April

Three possible options for summer. Vancouver to see some friends plus camping and walking (depends how child gets on in mountains), Bali with some friends, a Greek island just to get some sunshine and the option to swimming in warm sea.

We SHOULD go to Vancouver, I'm kind of veering towards Greece.

Usual round of international business destinations.

Maybe back to Gabon for first time in 20 years.

Maybe somewhere new in the UK.
We're lined up for a weekend in Blair Atholl end of January.

Never been to the West Country.

We were impressed with Lincoln last year.

... and his beautiful home city.

Gabon onshore or offshore? I worked Gabon exploration for 5-6 years - really interesting geology.

And did you post a map of where you’ve been in the UK? Lincoln is a nice place - if you liked it then there are plenty of gorgeous spots in the West Country.

The well is offshore, shallow water.

It's just a continuation of Angola, Cabinda, Congo isn't it?

It will be Port-Gentil which is as nice as anywhere I've been on that coast.

Your lot were somewhere further down that you can only go to if invited.

We'll discuss it at the Kaliningrad pissup with Vinny taking notes.

Homer,

Thanks. This will be our first trip. I am sure I will have questions as the time approaches. I know July isn't ideal but that is only month my wife can take vacation.

Pretty much all travel will be for work this year. Lebanon and Jordan next week. And sometime this year:

Houston
Greece
Bosnia
Serbia
Kosovo
Ethiopia

Probably back to the Middle East again. Outside chance, Haiti, Jerusalem, and West Bank.
