Tourist Trap Gardens

Post by BeatRaven » Sun Dec 23, 2018 3:59 pm

I went to a couple on Kauai -bits of ga-ga exotica that are more about the gift shop then horticulture.

Places that display BulletPark's face in a red circle with a diagonal line through it at the entrance.

Busch Garden In Florida has got to be in the top 5. England is full of them. Pattaya boasts a deeply satisfying one:

Are you ever enticed?

I posted pretty extensively about a funny "rain forest preserve" that I went to in China...

Nobody does tourist traps like the Chinese. You aren't going to beat those guys or even come close.

Tiger Balm Gardens in Singapore was a crassness pioneer that at least one in 4 PS people have seen the inside of.

Butchart Gardens on Vancouver Island

They can't pronounce it but they line up by the thousands & thousands daily-the crowds have to be seen to be believed.

Gotta mention the Kugelhoff tulip gardens outside of Amsterdam. Probably the most crowded garden I've ever been in.

I think they have a sign up that says you must be at least 72 years old to ride this ride.

There are different types of Tourist Traps: There are ones where the featured attraction is worthwhile but where there is too much emphasis on buying junk at the tourist shops and other concessions on the premises VS. the Tourist Traps where even the prime attraction is shit.

Our favorite is https://www.villa-ephrussi.com/en/home. The bus ride from Nice is spectacular and there are a couple of sand beaches nearby as well.
More irrational spitefulness coming from twodogs...
