The Balkans

Post by Citizen Baba » Wed Oct 31, 2018 6:58 pm

I'll be spending a month or so for work this year in the Balkans: Greece, Kosovo, Belgrade, and Republic Srpska.

Anything not to miss? I'm just starting to look up things to do.

Preferably activities and things to see not centered around drinking.

Make sure you take the train from Belgrade to Bar, it’s spectacular. If you have a few days you can go up the coast to Kotor and Dubrovnik, then inland to Mostar and Sarajevo. Nice loop.

Sorry, I actually meant 2019. It will likely be May or June.

That makes a difference - beach, lakes, mountains, you’re spoilt for choice.

I need to pick up a book or something.

Did you go to Georgia, Simon?

Yep - and Armenia. Will write up some notes once I have a moment - got off plane and it’s been work since then.
