Sorry. Would have liked to, but didn't have time.

I hope someone has though. I'd like to hear about it.

I would go west. Darien is mostly flat, hot, jungly, and maybe dangerous if you run into some druggists.

My goal would be Volcan Baru, just west of Boquete. It's 11,000+ and you can see the Atlantic and the Pacific simultaneously. There are two routes, from the west (the town of Volcan) and from the east (Boquete). The western route is a wonderful trail with great rain forest and great views. The eastern route is walking up a boring road with no views until the top.

Here is the western route:
Best Route
In agreement with the previous poster, the route starting at the town of VOLCAN is by far the best option if you would like to experience this climb to the fullest. Going up via the town of Boquete is essentially walking 12km uphill on a steep, run down, dirt road (closely resembling a dry riverbed) with very Little scenery or panoramic views. If you are in good physical shape and are up for a challenge, then definately take the VOLCAN town route.

Here is the eastern route from Boquete, if you want to walk up the road for four hours at night to see the sunrise, or do a jeep trip.

Darien NP and Boquete are my 2 options. I've already been in touch with a guide for Darien NP
