The competition ive entered is to stay at some new posh hotel that's "Made" its own pristine white beach....not my sort of thing but Mrs Lincoln will like it..i get the impression its a fairly small country but worth a week or two no?

Of course. Weed is plentiful there. I'm sure you'll have a wicked good time.

I bet you couldn't pin point Bahrain on a map could you Moe?
Perhaps you could watch a few TV documentaries about it and report back to me?

My bet is that Mrs. Lincs comes back from Bahrain wearing a Burkah, and Mr. Lincs comes back as a devout Muslim which prays to Allah 5 times a day on his newly purchased prayer rug, albeit stoned to the max on that noxious weed.

I've been, it sucks. You'll hate it. Meat-heavy cuisine, expensive, devoid of cannabis, big US naval base.
The End.
The End.

That's OK. The chances of the OP being a winner at anything in this lifetime are pretty slim anyway.

Worth a week or two? No. I have friends who lived there while working across the causeway in Saudi. It’s a small island and I suspect a long weekend would be enough time... however if you want to get a few countries under your belt you could stay a couple of nights there then fly cheap to the UAE and pocket a load more mini-emirates on your embellished “country” list. Not sure if they’re flying to Qatar right now, with the recent childish blockade and all.

Aren't all these sand pit nowheresvilles pretty much interchangeable?
That what I sussed from AmericanJoe and that loser who talks about being in The Sandbox, like that's any kind of real witticism.

Ahh man that's pretty lame...if you think that all the Emirates are just sand dunes and tacky craft markets,,,,then you clearly haven't been.

Yeah. I clearly haven't been. So that's why I'm asking.
Is it like in Sex In The City 2? I've seen that at least 30 times.
Hard, hard pass based on that, except for the part where they all sing I Am Woman.

I've been, just for a weekend trip from Saudi Arabia, I drove in and out with a bunch of batshit crazy teachers, we were mainly there to not be in Saudi.
It isn't a place I would seek out, but since you are so interested in the UAE, I'm sure you'll enjoy it and will find much to appreciate.
A few photos from my trip, 2013.
Street art near the souq:

A mosque I didn't go to, we were looking for alcohol:

A very cool Thai, I think it was, restaurant:

American tourist and sand flies, I've posted this before:
