UFC 229: Nurmagomedov vs McGregor

Post by OnTheBall » Wed Oct 03, 2018 6:22 am

MAIN CARD

Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov TITLE FIGHT

Tony Ferguson vs. Anthony Pettis I think Pettis will upset El Cucuy

Ovince Saint Preux vs. Dominick Reyes

Derrick Lewis vs. Alexander Volkov

Michelle Waterson vs. Felice Herrig - no idea. Do not follow women's MMA

Possibly the biggest MMA fight ever, and the one I have been the most interested in for a long time. What's your prediction? Mine in bold. It's Khabib Time!

McGregor is easy to hate but I've started to have a newfound respect for the dude...I hope he wins...even if he is a gypo bogtrotter (like Iolar)

I'm indifferent towards him, but I am a big fan of wrestlers, and Khabib is probably the best wrestler in MMA today (with Cormier and Askren - though Askren has never fought in the UFC)

Mcgreagor is not right in the head. His one big day was that farce against Gayweather and its gone to head. The fact that they can only sell UFC be fronting it with this goon tells you all you need to know about the state of sport. If still very much in the shadow of boxing. Who wants to watch two roiders rolling around the deck in some sweaty clinch. Hopefully the Russian will knock him out and send McGreagor back to where he belongs.

eric, maybe stick to watching curling.

McG has done too much cocaine.

The problem with the UFC is Dana White. Great promoter, but I feel the UFC has outgrown him, and it now needs an experienced, professional sports administrator to take the sport to the next level.

The roiders bit? Well, that would have been applicable a few years ago, but USADA has been playing havoc with the cheats. They're still around, but that's like with everything sport.

I don't buy it. Its at least as bad a boxing. Can a clean fighter seriously be expected to compete at the highest level. Everybody was getting exited about the prospects for Darren Till until he got beat by Tyron Woodley. Although Till is a hype job I was not surprised to see that the general feeling about Woodley is they he is on steroids.

Like I said, they're still around, no doubt. But MMA commentators like labeling MMA in the UFC as the pre-USADA and post-USADA period, and there have been many, many fighters who have been caught and many who have "inexplicably" become (and started looking like) shit once USADA came in.

But what can you do? It's in every bloody sport and just about everywhere now. I've been back in Australia for over a year and it's easy to see how many (mainly) men are on something at the gym.

Mind games from McTappy, but even though Khabib looked visibly annoyed, he didn't take the bait.

You would think that the birth of the pikeys child might encourage him to act a bit more sensible but he just gets worse. Would you really want your kids growing up emulating this sack of shit. His shtick has just got tiresome. Again I hope the Russian takes his head off. The sooner he disappears into obscurity the better.

I realise he wanted to piss off Khabib by being late, but imagine being one of his fans, waiting for the cunt to make his arrival.

What sheep.

Apparently his whiskey tastes like paint thinner with vanilla extract added to mask the shyte taste.

McGregor got what he deserved for all his idiot’s trash talk. One round even, but two and a half rounds of getting the snot kicked, punched and strangled out of him. It was a clinical, thorough, professional beating.

Then there was another fight to finish the first one.

Great win by Khabib. 3rd round was pretty even, but I still had Khabib winning every round. McG had the "weight" excuse when he lost to Diaz, but he was humbled tonight, and that's the end of him as a top tier draw, unless potato head fans keep on cheering for him regardless.

Khabib shot himself on the foot after the fight, but shit can always boil over when you involve, religion, country and family in your fight promotion.

Dana white has to take a lot of responsibility for what happened at the end. He encourages the worst aspects of human behaviour to try and raise the profile of the game and ends up with a riot. Mcgreagor got what he deserved. The first order twat got twatted.

No truer words have been spoken.
I went to one UFC event years ago in Montreal and the fucking meatheads in attendance were appalling.
Now I didn't go expecting a Harvard debating society type audience, but the sheer stupidity and unnecessary dick wagging of the crowd basically put me off the sport for ever.

khabib_nurmagomedovI would like to address @ufc
Why didn't you fire anyone when their team attacked the bus and injured a couple of people? They could have killed someone there, why no one says anything about insulting my homeland, religion, nation, family?

Why do you have to punish my team, when both teams fought. If you say that I started it, then I do not agree, I finished what he had started.

In any case, punish me, @zubairatukhugov has nothing to do with that.
If you think that I’ll keep silent then you are mistaken. You canceled Zubaira’s fight and you want to dismiss him just because he hit Conor. But don’t forget that it was Conor who had hit my another Brother FIRST, just check the video.

if you decide to fire him, you should know that you’ll lose me too. We never give up on our brothers in Russia and I will go to the end for my Brother. If you still decide to fire him, don’t forget to send me my broken contract, otherwise I'll break it myself.

And one more thing, you can keep my money that you are withholding. You are pretty busy with that, I hope it won’t get stuck in your throat. We have defended our honor and this is the most important thing. We intend to go to the end.

Mayweather is the one that brings the money to this dance, so he would control the stipulations of such a fight. I'd be disappointed in Khabib if he accepted a pure boxing match, as that would make it quite apparent that it's all just for the money. Not that I care that a prize fighter wants to make money, but it would make him a hypocrite if he did so.

No way gaywaether is going to put his ego on the line by getting into a real fight. Why would he? He has build his reputation on superb defensive skills but they won’t count for anything in the octagon.

Apparently, Khabib knocked back $15m to fight McG again and will, instead, fight Tony Ferguson and then he plans on retiring.

Fair play, don't know too many people who would knock back $15m to smack around a guy he hates and knows he could beat easily.
