Nike stock closed @ 82.18 on Friday Aug 31st. It opened @ 79.01 on Sept 4th, and closed @ 79.60.

I'm gonna try to remember to keep a daily check on their stock to see if it continues to drop or if it starts to rise.
Nike closed yesterday @ 79.60, opened today @ 79.65, and closed today @ 79.92. Up 0.40%.

Colin Kaepernick is closer to Andy Dalton (ie Joe Average QB) than Tom Brady.

I really think this whole angry at the NFL/Nike BS is the bumper sticker Patriots answer to feminists getting angry about “manspreading” and sexist air conditioning. That said, holding up CK as an elite player is a piss weak counter argument.

He’s Joe Average with baggage that pickup truck manufacturers really don’t like.

When will Joe Flacco and Trent Dilfer be getting their Nike time? Those fuckers actually won. Don't be ridiculous, this guy wasn't picked by Nike because he made it to (and lost) one Super Bowl. Idiot. He was picked because he is an icon to a large portion of an audience that Nike covets. Obviously.

Nice strawman where did I say anywhere why he got the Nike sponsorship? I was obviously disputing the conservative talking point that he sucked as a QB. IDIOT. When will the Detroit school board incorporate reading into their learning plans? It's too late for you but think about the future.

Let's just say that Kaepernick, by virtue of his protest and the subsequent blackballing that he received from the NFL where he couldn't even get a qb role even holding a clipboard makes him a valuable commodity for Nike.

Here's the wording of the Nike campaign featuring Kaepernick. The guy got paid 100 million some odd dollars to toss a football, and now he's a fucking victim.

Go ahead, though what point will be proven, you'd still have to buy new shoes. They won't be Nike's, so what brand, Addidas?

I'll give ASICS or the Under Armor Steph Curry's a shot next time I buy basketball shoes.

Ya he's definitely not the 97th or 98th best QB in the league, at worst he's a very good 3rd stringer.

I'm not sure that putting a 2nd and/or 3rd string QB on the roster is as simple as taking any one of the 33rd-96th most qualified players.
QBs that bring a media circus with them might not be worth the value realised by filling a backup QB spot. QBs that bring a media circus and require a very accommodating signal caller and gameplans even more so.

I wouldn't put it past most NFL owners to say "fuck that guy" and even encourage their fellow billionaire NFL team owning friends to do the same. That said, QB is the least plug-and-play position in the NFL and the 33rd most talented QB in the world could be a very bad match for any given team.

Correct, Vince.

John Boy gave the cunt a tryout for Denver, who have needed a QB for years, and he wasn't good enough for even the 3rd team. As he testified in his deposition in the NFL collusion case that Kapernick will lose.

Colin has physical skills but he's a moron in reading defenses and can no longer compete with the elite quarterbacks of the NFL.

Nike has decided to enter the political arena in their choice of spokesman. I wonder if the sweatshops that make Nike shoes in Korea are getting a raise too.

I've never been a YCer in my entire life. How very dare you.
You have my deepest and most sincere apologies. For some reason, I didn't remember you coming from Talk Politics.
I actually didn't spend a lot of time on TT at all. I mostly just started here. I am a true Child of the Stew.
You are rare like me. I found the Stew through a google search whilst looking for boards for political discussion.

There you have it, Asian countries shouldn't have bothered with all that manufacturing, they should have just raised their minimum wage.
I don't think one excludes the other. Western countries have managed to balance both.
Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair.
