I think it's shrewd by Real Madrid. They got top dollar on a depreciating asset.

He's going to be a depreciating asset real soon, if not next year, the one after. Or even the next injury. When it goes, it goes fast.

I'm with lost soul on this, I'd bet he gets a big kickback for this, say 35% of the deal.

He gets to see out the end of his career winning trophies across many leagues and maximizing merchandising and sponsorship. Bundesliga the season after with Bayern, then China, Japan and finally MLS. CR7 shirts

No, finally the A league in Australia, when he's 45 years old. He'd still be the best striker.

I do think 45 is a bit young for the A-League ain't it?

Or just have them covering his tax-dodging penalty of $20,000,000.

Juventus got the better end of that deal. After all the 100 euro plus deals the last few years, wow, he went cheeeep.
He musta really wanted to leave if real settled for that.
Ronaldo has years left in those legs....
Real will wish they, and the spanish tax agents, treated him better.
One thing thats for certain, one thing thats for sure
