Springboks vs England

Post by Shavenhead » Thu Jun 07, 2018 6:18 pm

Predictions?

I've a feeling England will win the first one. The SA injury jinx continues. The Bismarck and Frans Steyn ruled out for the whole series due to some injury they picked up playing for Montpellier last weekend.

Not enough experience, and not enough time playing or even practicing together as a side. No viable hooker with both Marx and The Bismarck ruled out due to injury.

England are on a run of 4 defeats!

A made up side put 60+ points on them last week.

Even Ireland couldn't win a series in Bokland last year.

Have some pride man.

That or stop being so sneaky.

Beating Wales would normally be a formality for the boks.

This is not a vintage side. England by some distance.

I’ll go the Boks to restore some pride. Boks by 10.

England should have a chance, they have a Kiwi on the bench whose playing style has never been ruined by time on a field in the Northern hemisphere. What a joke, has Brad Shields ever even set foot in England?

The scrum back row could win it for South Africa - Du Preez, Kolisi and Vermeulen. That's a dangerous group of loose forwards:

https://keo.co.za/duane-siya-jean-luc-w ... -victory/

The back three will also be interesting to watch - the two new wings, Nkosi and Diyantyi have both been pretty explosive in Super Rugby, but depends how they do under the high ball, but at least backed up by Willie Le Roux, who can either be brilliant or really shit depending on his mood.

No idea what you're talking about harry,we've never had players in our team who had played professional rugby overseas ,in the country of their birth, before being selected in the All Blacks.

Is all about earning the right to be there . You presumably don’t feel that brad shields has the right to represent England which is odd given that the all blacks have been poaching islanders for as long as anybody can remember. I don’t feel that your soccer team has ever earned the right to qualify for the World Cup final because you lack the quality to be there. It it were not for the quirks of geographic qualification does anybody really think that NZ are fit to play football at the highest level?

Poaching Islanders? Can you give me some examples from the last two World Cups? Poaching doesn't include those who were taken to NZ by their parents.
As for Shields, the rules say because his father is from England, he's eligible to play for them. What I find strange is that he got selected when he'd never played rugby in England. How does that make the players in his position in England feel? He's a journeyman player, not good enough for the All Blacks, but apparently better than anyone in England.
NZ were the only team to go through the 2010 Football World Cup undefeated,so they showed they were fit to be there.

Pisser, I'm not limiting it to world cups, that was what was mentioned by the accuser. Still, give me some examples. Again, not players who were taken to NZ by their parents. Players who were established professionals, selected straight into the National team from a foreign country.

Faf De Klerk - recently scrumhalf for Sale in England - man of the match, and deservedly so - he was fucking everywhere. The biggest SA weakness over the last few years has been at scrum half, looks like that problem's solved. The other big weakness was the back three. In this test, and last week's test against Wales, all four wings scored tries on their debut - Sbu Nkosi (2), Amphiwe Dyiantyi, Travis Ismael and Makhazoli Mapimpi, and today's full back, Willie Le Roux - look's like that problem's been solved. The loose forwards were on form - especially Duane Vermeulen - the human battering ram, who was immense.

Get Malcolm Marx back in the mix in time for the Rugby Championship, and it could be game on against the likes of NZ, Australia and Argentina.

First he was abused by Scottish fans, now Eddie Jones abused by Saffer fans at the match on Saturday.

Some people should realise that rugby is supposed to be a game played by hooligans, watched by gentlemen.

Take that loutish behaviour to football, stinkos.
