Ok, it's bad enough you have the Cavs beating the Raptors (possible, I suppose) but going all the way to final? Nope.

The Warriors damn near blew it last night with their best defender, Clay Thompson, getting called for 3 fouls in the first 4 minutes of the game. That was especially concerning, given the Iguodala was out(their other best defender).

Yeah. Two of those calls were chicken shit too.

I liked what Kerr did though. He brought him back in but removed him from guarding Harden.

I thought GS was done due to all the offensive rebounds they were giving up. Green even got in Durant's face about it. Even Kerr got as mad as I'd ever seen him.

Yes, it was completely unforeseeable that the Rockets would lose once Chris Paul was injured. It took another spate of awful shooting for GSW to get in. I can't say I've been all that impressed with playoff basketball. Regular season play is far more entertaining.

What an awful second half performance by Houston.
The Houston players played hard, but you must blame bad coaching, in part, for the poor shooting percentage in the second half -- there were way too many attempted 3-pointers (and almost all of them missed). They should have shot more short shots "in the paint" which worked well in the first half. It's not Rocket Science that when it ain't working you try something different. Some might legitimately call the poor play by Houston in the second half "A Choke".

It was a close game even with Paul on the bench. Hard to imagine that he wouldn't have made a big difference. (Imagine if Trump hadn't had Russia in the game.)

If Cleveland beats GS will LeBron be elevated above Jordan, who always had Pippen at his side, as well as other top players at various stages (Rodman, Grant, Oakley, ...)? Who is the second best player for Cleveland?

Maybe. But Igoudala would have guarded Harden, as he will guard Elbron next week. See- GS was hurting too.

Smith: It was the worst blunder on a basketball court since one of "The Fab 5" players for the University of Michigan (Chris Webber) had the ball but called time-out in the last few seconds of the Championship Game when his team didn't have any time-outs left --- resulting in a technical foul & foul shots and the ball out of bounds for the University of North Carolina --- making it impossible for his team to win.

A few thoughts on game 1, which I just wached.

- What an awesome game! The playoffs have sucked so far. Took a while to get something like this, but it was great.
- LeBron was moving on the blocking foul. I would have called it that way when it happened, but it was so close that I wouldn't have reversed the call on review.
- Reid was a boob, but there was no good shot for him or LeBron if he had known the score. Still, they would have had a chance, especially if there had been an odd rebound on the second attempt. Don't get mad at him if you are a Cavs fan. Nothing you want to do to him will come close to what LeBRon will do.
- If he had kicked out the ball to LeBron, LeBron had made the shot, the Cavs had won and then gone on to win a 7 game series no one would remember who Michal Jordan was anymore.

On point 2, I think the refs got the call right. Elbron was set, but he moved his torso into the shooter.
On point 4, MJ will live on. MJ is a happy man; Elbron is an angry black man, with baldness issues.

LeBron was in front of the restricted area and got into position in time, but then he didn't fully get himself set. He drifted; and unnecessarily so. If he had planted his feet firmly and not drifted he would have been perfectly placed to draw the charge.

There has been much discussion on ESPN Radio Sports Talk (Marcelles & Travis) every weekday late afternoon in L.A. regarding where LeBron will be playing next season.
Their views are that LeBron will leave for either the Lakers or Philly unless the Cavs can win this NBA Final.
The incentives for the Los Angeles Lakers are (1). The weather; (2). A franchise with a history of producing winners and arranging things to get top talent within the salary cap; and, perhaps most important is (3). That Magic Johnson can offer LeBron lots more than just money --- he can offer and help with connections to other business opportunities in L.A.
Marcelles Wiley is a really interesting and funny guy to listen to if you haven't heard him discucss sports before.

Game # 3 is tonight (Wednesday) in Cleveland.
Will the result be any different with the Cavs at home? Cleveland must win tonight or it will be doomsday for them to make a comeback in the series, and that may mean that it will be the last NBA Finals for Cleveland with Lebron.

Seems home court matters a little more than you think.

Not a totally fair statistical analysis since the better teams get "home court advantage", and are playing a higher percentage of games at home.

I think Cleveland has a shot tonight--it's going to be hard for GS to maintain the same focus now that they are up two games and playing on the road.

Yes, but that's too high a winning percentage to be explained by that.

Is there a link for the 58-22 stat? A lot of series were 4-0, which means 2 wins for the home team and 2 for the away team.

Now the home vs away record through the playoffs is 58 - 23. I think GSW wins on Friday and sweeps the Cavs.
