6 Nations!

Post by QPR_Paul » Fri Feb 02, 2018 9:30 am

What's happened to this place? The 6 Nations starts tomorrow and none of us To55 Pots has made a single post on it.

Straight forward this weekend, no? 3 away wins.

Wales vs Scotland

France vs Ireland

Italy vs England

I would was thinking the same thing, Paul.

Then again, some nomark Englander made it to the semis of the Australian tennis last week...response... Nothing.

Yes, looks like it could be three away wins. Have Scotland flattered to deceive though.

That is sad.

There are matches tomorrow you know - one doesn't have to wait until they are actually taking place - to give a running commentary.

England might be playing away to the salad dodgers.

It's called, the build up.

We used to have 10+ rugby fans posting here.

...and isn't 'er indoors watching tonight!?

It should be 8 nations . . . in 2 divisions. England Wales Ireland France Scotland Italy Georgia Romania. 4 teams play each other home and away. Promotion and relegation each year, 1 team down, 1 team up. If the Scots complain about not playing England every year, tell them to win and move up and get a guaranteed home fixture.

If Scotland convert this half time score of 22-6, it will be interesting to see how much 'lice' will come out from under the word work here.

That will be the ultimate litmus test to show if WOS is dead.

...

Scotland playing awesome btw. 3-0 in tries at half-time

Just over 10 minutes to go, away from home, down 12 points and down to 14 men.

This is what you call a testing situation.

Well, it could get worse.

On St Patrick's Day, in London, Ireland will have the chance to win the Triple Crown, Championship, Grand Slam, bragging rights as top Northern Hemisphere side, and current No 1 contenders to the ABs crown at next year's world cup.

All in the same day!!!

...be afraid, be very afraid.

And England have to beat France away in Paris first, to have a chance to win the championship. It's not all over yet!

Things could get very tetchy in the Lincoln household in March.

and I bet your other kidney that QPR_paul will be along shortly to whinge about the calls that didn't go Englands way. I thought the shirtlifter had a good game today. England were the architects of their own downfall. Giving way stupid penalties when they still had time to win. Ireland will beat Scotland and loose to England.

Ireland could get the championship automatically next week if they beat Scotland at home and get a bonus point, if England were to beat France away and not get a bonus point.

Then it's just all about pride in the last match.

Ireland should win the grand slam. Anything else is failure. Without doubt, they are the most complete team in the northern hemisphere.

Ireland will win the championship next weekend.

England will win against Ireland in the last match.

As I predicted, no one will win the slam (and no triple crown)

The affair will end up in a damp squib, the Irish players will try their best to parade the trophy around Twickenham, as losers in the match that counts.

The 'plastics' will head back to the shitty pubs up the Kilburn high road, to muted celebrations (slobbering) over it being the 17th March.

I can't work the French team out at the moment.

One drop goal by Ireland and a bad half against Scotland, and they could have been up their too.

Isn't it strange - this thread had no posts for the first 2 rounds of the tournament, and then England lost and the rugby posts took off!

Fair weather fans?

Bit of a short term problem for England. English players (understandably) had the largest Lions contingent, but it's March now, and fatigue and injuries are taking their toll after the long season. Will certainly have enough left to beat Ireland at HQ though.

It's a bit more than a short-term problem.

England has a far, far larger pool to choose from than Ireland. You simply aren't good enough. Don't give us fatigue and injuries. You don't think Ireland has suffered fatigue and injuries? Ireland is just a much better team. Simple as.

...And yet England have won 6 out of the last 8 head-to-heads, and Ireland haven't won at HQ since 2011.

It would be interesting to see how Ireland would fare without their top 3 players, say playing without Stander , Murray and Sexton, which is the position England have been in all tournament.

At full strength England won back-to-back 6Ns and white-washed the Aussies and Argies away to boot. Don't see evidence Ireland have done anything like that.

I have to agree that calli ng Twickenham "HQ", if not trolling, is just a bit 'twatty'.

Let's see how Paul is going to put a spin on this game.

My instinct is he is going to mention the fact that the difference between the two teams was Farrell's missed kicks.

It wasn't, they have been poor all tournament.

But, let's not forget they had put together, what was it 24 wins out of 25?

Let's see how the tour in South Africa goes.

Surely "HQ" is the town of Rugby itself where Web Ellis did his thing...persoinally as a footy fan i think Web Ellis is a bit of a twat for picking up the ball and running ....cunt...buthe inadvertently invented a middle class version of football for the middle classes.
