Australia v England 5th Test Sydney

Post by Red_V » Wed Jan 03, 2018 4:50 am

One change for each side.
Mitchell Starc replaces Jackson Bird for Australia and Mason Crane will make his Test debut for England replacing the injured Chris Woakes.
The debacle from Melbourne won't be repeated at the S.C.G. the wicket is too good for that.Let's hope so anyway, one fizzer per summer is enough.
The weather looks good.

Another dull series.

England very poor. Several players who are nowhere near good enough for international cricket. Australia average, with a couple of excellent players.

'Another dull series'

I guess it is for Pomms like Poo and Harry.

They don't like it 'Up 'em' do they'?

The test in Sydney is very interesting because of the wicket, there has been loads of talk about it, it the captains having very different views about the way it will play.

Joe Root on inspecting pitch said the English would play two spinners because he sees it as very dry, and it will start to break up after 3 days and take spin.

But Smith sees it as having a green tinge and it being a very good wicket, and after giving early life it will settle down to be good batting track, but as it wears it could play tricks later.

But they have both said there is every chance of a result.

Come on you GREEN and GOLD mob!!!

I said before that The Ashes was Gash as each Team wins at home...

Cracking article from some Cunt on CRICINFo about the Shite that happens when the Ashes comes around.

http://www.espncricinfo.com/story/_/id/21909055/the-ashes-sinking-mire-own-bullshit

(Hogwash has replaced Bullshit as you can see from the Link)

I hope England win but I don't really give a Hogwash..

Cricket is turning up its own Arse at the moment and the Ashes in particular.

Maybe soon there will be no Cricket and no one will give a Fuck...

Light drizzle has delayed the toss and the start of play.It wasn't forecast and there is fuck-all on the radar so it shouldn't be too long now before proceedings get underway. The temperature is set to reach 37 C on Sunday.

Crazy not to send out a nightwatchman and then for bairstow to try an expansive drive.

Fucking bored of root getting out for a 50. It’s a half century a game - 1st innings - no hundreds and rarely 2nd innings runs

Probably.

Though the intense heat forecast for Sunday could mean Australia (who should be fielding again by then) end up exhausted and can't chase a total on the final day.

Or that the projected heat does really dry the wicket out, it starts to crumble and Lyons comes into his own?

I reckon that the Crims will post 370ish then we'll make 240ish and New Boy Mason Crane will take 6-67 and Chemical Ali will take the others and the Crims are all out for 157 to make it a 3-1 Ashes Debacle..

I was talking about the Pomms batting in their 2nd innings you dope Grecian!!

Dopey, i know that you are not real bright, so i will explain it for you, dumb it down as much as i can and use very short words, so you might understand.

Right now the Aussies are only 2 down now, it is Saturday and it is predicted as to be the best time to bat, so given recent form it seems Smith and company will bat for for a while, OK?

The Pomms bat next, [their 2nd innings] and Sunday it seems likely the time they will be at the crease, and given the next 2 days in Sydney are tipped to be very hot, the pitch might start to break up and take spin, that is when Lyons might have something to say, OK?

Understand shit for brains?

I must give my due to Grecian's post on this board as the best piece of comic writing i have seen on here [Nearly as funny as him tipping Exeter to beat the Baggies in the FA Cupl] as i have seen on here for a while.

For me it was a toss-up witch was the funniest comment between his and Grahame Swan's on the BBC about the current test, both were an absolute crack up, and bought a huge laugh from me, well done guys!!!

But back to the real world................................The big thing now for me is when do the Aussies declare, do they bat on much after lunch?

Or do they really stick it to the pomms and bat on as long as they can, and really rub their noses in it and set it up for the Singapore Surrender Monkeys to remember a long, long time in the field that will stick in their minds and remind them who were the better side in the series.

I would say fuck 'em, bat as long as you can you GREEN and GOLD hero's!!!

Commentary at the start of this session mentioned that the groundskeepers took a temp reading in the middle during the break and it was over 50C. So I can't see a declaration until later in the day - keep batting, stay out of the heat as long as possible and wipe out the poms.

So Root's been in hospital overnight on a drip being treated for dehydration.
I wonder if he will bat today? England aren't going to be able to win, and are unlikely to salvage a draw. Unless that looks likely and they send him in way down the order to resume batting would you want to risk your health anymore by playing?

Well done Australia...You THRASHED England, Fair and Square....Absolutely DICKED the Poms so GOOD ONYA...Fair Dinkum..

....Even with that Aussie Team Bob Simpson, Bill Lawry, Ian and Greg Chappell, Kim Hughes, Allan Border, Mark Taylor, Steve Waugh, Ricky Cunting and Michael Clarke would have been embarrassed to lead them on the Pitch...

Both 'Teams' were utter Gash in so many departments it was just that England were more Gasher...If Nathan Lyon is a Great Spinner then you are soooo Fucking deluded. Chemical Ali's Head has gone and you won't see him again...

If you want to watch Test Cricket like the last 5 we've seen in the ashes debacle and you enjoy that shite then that's up to you - I'd rather go 20/20 or even 10/10 that they are trialling now...

It has been, by far, the worst, ever 5 Test Series in an Ashes contest that I can ever remember and I do blame England and their management and Joe FUCKING Root and Cool Cook and Ali and Bairstow + a few others for our No Show.

It was Cricket at its worst - and that is before I get started on the horrible Aussie Press and incredibly boring Run Rates..

Saffers just beat India in 4 days - and the 3rd day was washed out! It neally went down to the wire...

England need some wholesale sackings UP TOP and start again as Vince, Stoneman, Mullan, Ali, cook should never play again. Root is NEVER a Fucking Captain!

I give up...

With it not being on sky tv and the result being a fire gone conclusion, there’s been precious little interest in the uk.
