Downhill Skiing.

Post by Lincoln » Sat Dec 02, 2017 9:09 pm

I'ts on Eurosport2 right now and it looks awesome....its in Lake Louisa (where's that) ??

As much as i admire their skill, the thrill for me is the anticipation that they will wipe out and face-splat.

Do you like to see sportsmen/woman fall on their arse and wipe out?

I'm watching the same race.

Lake Louise is in Alberta, west of Calgary. I've skied it.

Female skiers have great bodies. Especially the gams.

Used to go every year till I lost my nerve. Saw too many accidents - other people's, that is, as ducks are notoriously cautious on skis. I even managed the legendary Lauberhorn once. That one really gave me the horn.

I prefer uphill skiing.

Requires a lot more skill, grit and determination.

Was. livid.

The ski was invented in Tuva, not Scandinavia.

I've always liked Olympic downhill skiing. It's all or nothing. Icy edges? Off-camber gate? Too steep?

Tough shit, if you want to win you have to go all out risking life and limb.

And in Germany. http://www.dw.com/en/kandahar-ski-run-among-hardest-in-garmisch/av-6431164

Not to mention France. http://chamonixworldcup.com/la-course_la-piste.php?lang=en

The city was founded by and named after Alexander the Great, if you can imagine a world where Afghanistan is still Greek.

The Lauberhorn is better as you are at the foothills of the Eiger, Jungfrau und Mönch, sozusagen.

You don't win at skiing anymore by being reckless. Being technically and tactically sound is far more important.

You may not realize this, Eric, but your are talking to a man who has a number of skiing medals to his name! Oddly enough, issued by the Rotary Club of San Martin de los Andes, Argentina. Kilombo may know the place.

But I remain the only duck to have skied the Lauberhorn with gay abandon.
