Most of it is on the public record. The club are St Kilda. Gary Abblett killed the girl. Alan Didak was shooting guns in the city with a Hells Angel meth head murderer. The other is Wayne Carey. Nothing much happened to any of them - it's Melbourne.

The AFL commission did have to be publically embarrassed by foreign judges. 20-25% of AFL players tested positive to illicit drugs using hair tests. AFL crowds did racially abuse Adam Goodes into retirement. Essendon are the only football club of any code in any country to cheat on such a scale. Plenty more I'm sure you're aware of.

It's the stuff you hear about that flys under the radar - and I hear about it usually through ex-players - that gets swept under the carpet. Stuff like the drugs culture at various clubs. Players caught in criminal acts and let off. Victims paid off.

Why would they do that. Despite your nonsense about a cover up the story was widely reported in the media. All you need to do is google Dustin Martin Chopstick so see that. I'd be surprised if many people in Victoria hadnt heard about it. The bit about Martin threatening to stab her with a chopstick was bullshit. This got less coverage than the untrue allegation against him. At least Caro had the decency to set things straight on Footy Classified.

Its on the public record. I thought it was all hushed up. I wish you would make your mind up.

What have St Kilda done?

Some of it gets out. Particularly if there's a court case. Even if it was delayed by ten years because the police recognised the footy playing status of the rapist was more important than the right of the girl not be be raped.

Read the thread if you want to find out what St Kilda did.

Match report, 1973 Grand Final (Wiki)

The first key incident in the match occurred at the 4-minute mark of the quarter. Carlton captain-coach John Nicholls, who had masterminded Richmond's demise in the previous year's Grand Final, was coming out to mark a long kick from Alex Jesaulenko when he was sensationally felled with a high shirtfront by Richmond defender Laurie Fowler ... Nicholls lay motionless for at least three minutes, whilst being attended to by trainers. He suffered double vision and had no impact for the remainder of the match.
...
Carlton hit back with goals to David McKay and Kevin Hall before big Richmond forward Neil Balme left his mark on the game. First he king-hit Carlton full-back Geoff Southby, and then moments later got a punch on Vin Waite. Southby was concussed by the blow and would not return to the field after half time.

He looks too skinny and sick. Surely his opponents could just pick him up and tie him in a knot - or give him a hot dinner if they were kind enough? Or did they all look like refugees from Srebrenica in those days?

NRL to implement 'good behaviour fund' to incentivise staying out of trouble

Bonus will be up to $400,000 per club per year to divide among roster

Total will be cut each time a player is involved in off-field scandal

The NRL's news policy on their violent, narcissistic players. They realise that they are such fuckheads, such egocentric anti-social cunts that they can't ask them not to beat up their girlfriends or members of the public, or hang around with gangsters and biker gangs, or take or deal drugs, or take a shit in public, or have a piss on the playing field on national TV, or piss in their own mouths, or pass around photos on themselves having sexual contact with dogs. That's not enough.

They only way they feel they can control the retarded assholes who play NRL is to pay them to act like everyone else.

What a shit sport. Full of shit people.

Dogs down 20-6 at the break. What d'ya reckon? Can they peg it back? Can the Morris bros. conjure up something inspirational?

On the other hand the Roosters have plenty to crow about. Cohesion springs to mind. Are you feeling the buzz?

Speaking of which, with Origin 1 just 10 ten days away, you must be strutting the stiffy at the mere thought of the clash.

I'll be interested to see which of the sex offenders, drug dealers, thugs, wife beaters and neck tattoo models takes a shit in the hotel foyer after the match. That's the way NRL players usually celebrate a victory isn't it.

And today other players charged with extortion, threats to kill...

The usual - tattoo parlours, money, gangsters.

It must have been serious, usually the police have to ask the AFL permission to interview their criminal players.

It's the same in much of Australian sport.

Thousands of young boys worshipped by older men. Boys who from the age of ten or eleven never again have a normal conversation with anyone. A breeding ground for narcissistic adult brats. Australian tennis players are the worst. NRL and AFL players and culture is worse than any other sport in any western country. When I moved here I thought the pro sport culture would be the best in the world - but (rugby union and soccer aside) it's the worst.

It's quite a barometer for the decay of the culture generally speaking in the last 20 something years. Nick Kyrgios and Tomic are young Australia.

About 1500 posts ago I said this thread - given the grubby culture of AFL and NRL and endless acts of stupidity, corruption and sleaze - from those sports might be never ending. By the way - almost none from Australian rugby union or soccer. It's the culture of AFL and NRL.

In other news - Lance Armstrong to hand out the yellow jersey to the Tour winner.

And today a new one - aside from police in NSW investigating an NRL match fixing syndicate - it seems that two of the NSW players - one a convicted sex offender went on the piss a few days before the recent State of Origin game.

Of course they did. That's what the game means to them.
