Too close to call, mate, but I know one thing...

It will all go down to who flukes the putts better as there's more rough around my Cock than on that course!

Everyone will be posting low scores.

The Setup: The greens will be super fast (most sloping back to front), the fairways will be wide(er), the first cut of rough (not so high) will be 7 yards wide instead of 2 yards wide, but the trees will be a factor as well as winds off the lake. And course management (strategically placing shots will be impotant on several holes.
Key Holes:
# 15 shortened to a risk/ reward driveable par 4, an exciting hole,
# 13 - Long 245 yards par 3 signature hole over a lake with strongs winds coming off the lake a big factor,
# 5 - 535 yards par 5, reachable in 2 where the position and slope of the fairway may dictate that players not use driver off the tee.
# 17 - 193 yards par 3 over a lake with winds coming off the lake being a factor, and where it is bad to be long or left of the green.
# 14 - 609 yards par 5, advantage to long hitters who can drive to the top of the hill, severely sloped green.
# 7 - 617 yards par 5, not reachable in 2 where the players will layup their 2nd shots to 120 yards and then try to put their third shots close.
Some of the other many tough holes:
# 2, 193 par 3,
# 6, long lengthened to 509 yard par 4,
# 9, 432 yards par 4,
# 12, long 476 par 4 where big oak tree guards the right of the green,
# 16, long 482 yards par 4.

There seems to be some off-the-wall lame writing by Lincoln above, but no true sports fan should take it as anything other than total shiiit by an air head doper.

Day 1 Friday Morning Foursome Matches have been completed. The U.S. won 2 matches, and the Euros won 2 matches, so the score is 2-2. Mickelson-Bradley won, Zack Johnson-Dufner won for U.S. The team of Tiger Woods-Steve Stricker lost. The Rory team won and the Juatin Rose team won for the Euros.
Now we have the Friday Four Ball matches this afternoon, also known as Best Ball, with all four golf balls in play on each hole.
Play On, boys! "Get in the hole".

Tiger was terrible in the morning....looked like a weekend hacker with those duck hooks. Bubba Watson's great though: he hit his tee shot on the 1st while the fans were still cheering.

Tiger has never played well in the Ryder Cup. I would have benched him in one of the two sessions today and in one of the two sessions tomorrow. Webb Simpson and Bubba and Bradley and Mickelson should be playing in every session. Furyk is old so shouldn't play all sessions. I'd bench Stricker a few times too.
Everyone (all 12) play singles on sunday so nobody can be benched on sunday.

The funny thing is that you can spot the fans in town for the rider cup - it tedns to be 50-ish men in groups of 3-4, all wearing windbreakers. I'm sure the call girls in the city are doing great business.

Webb Simpson and Bubba and Bradley and Mickelson should be playing in every session.

I was suprised to see that Mickelson has a pretty bad Ryder Cup record. Looks good today though

You've got to use players who make a lot of birdies as much as you can in team play, and Bubba and Mickelson make lots of birdies. Players who make lots of pars but few birdies even on a difficult course don't help win two-player team matches.

Those that make a lot of pars and a few birdies may do much better here in singles because Medinah has lots of difficult holes where a par can win the hole.

The U.S. is kicking Brit & Euro ass in friday's afternoon Four-Ball matches. They lead big in 3 of the 4 matches.

The Americans played great in the Four Ball matches on friday afternoon, winning 3 of those 4 matches. Most notably, Bubba Watson and Webb Simpson demolished their opponents in spectacular fashion. Mickelson and Bradley won again, this time over McIlroy and McDowell, 2 and 1.
The Score at the conclusion of Day 1 is U.S.A. 5, Euros 3.
There will be 8 points at stake on saturday, and all 12 players on each side will play singles matches on sunday with 12 points at stake on sunday.
Mathematically-speaking, it takes 14 1/2 points to win the Ryder Cup.
Go Team U.S.A., "Get in the Hole", play like Bubba and Simpson did to their opponents on friday

The American team is playing great on saturday, and leads 8-4 after the morning Foursomes, and are Kicking Euro Ass in the afternoon Four Ball matches where they lead in 3 of the 4 matches so far on the front nine. The Euros are not making the shots, especially on the fast difficult greens. The Euros are overmatched and look demoralized too. All the energy is with the Americans.

Exciting with lots of energy if you are an American. Great stuff.
Boring or uninteresting ONLY if you are for the Euros because they are playing like shiiit.

Sour Grapes, Geekster. You would be ravingly excited if the Euros were winning. Golf is, and has always been about getting the ball in the hole in the fewest number of strokes, and that's what the Americans are doing.

Here we go with Sunday's 12 singles matches.
The Euro Captain has front loaded his side to send out his best players first. The Euros need 8 points today to retain the Cup, and 8 1/2 points today to win the Cup. The Americans need only 4 1/2 points today out of the 12 points to win the Cup.
Go Team U.S.A.

It was a Putting contest for the first 2 days...and how come the Seppo Shites knew where the Hole was going to be and the Euros weren't told?

No rules have been broken. Nobody cheated. Blame the Euros for not asking where the pins wiuld be.
Why are you watching or care about it if it is boring? It's only interesting if the Euros do well? Hypocrite!

What an epic choke by the Americans....rivals the 99 Brookline Ryder Cup except this was on the US's home turf. Plus, the Americans usually do better in singles competition.

So despite cheating, having their fat Budweiser fuelled loudmouth fans distract the opposition and being in an almost unbeatable position the Yanks loose yet again. Sounds like Pussy Woods had his mind on the 19th and 20th holes instead of playing golf.

Well done Europe. You would think Mr Steve would acknowledge the magnificent achievement of his golf superiors.
