Ok, with the season over , let's take stock of these two...

-Both led their teams to the playoffs. Nicely done, though Indy was tanking it last year.

- Luck stayed healthy all year, and had one of the greatest rookie seasons for a QB - most yards for a rookie QB for a season, game, and other nice stats. I guess Indy gets lucky twice, getting back to back great QB's.

- RG wasn't healthy all year, but his game was pretty sweet as well; a "perfect passer rating" game, made the playoffs, and so on. he might be the best redskins qb since sammy baugh.

In other words, you couldn't go wrong with either.

I agree with the guy earlier in the thread who said Jimmy Clausen would have been a viable strategy over taking these two.

Let's wait five years and reassess.

RG3 is going to be perpetually hurt until he quits running, and then he won't be RG3 any more.

Andrew Luck bothers me for some reason. I can't quantify it; I just know he's going nowhere.

And three cheers for the 49er's QB from Nevada Reno! Shades of Brady there.

You're nuts. Both are going to be good to great.

Even if RGIII were a peg-legged amputee he'd still be a better pocket passer than most of the stiffs in the league. 3rd best QB rating and 2nd best in INTs.

Luck is the next generation's version of Brady or Manning. He's going to be rock solid. He has thrown a lot of picks, but that's a rookie thing I think he'll get sorted out.

There are about 27 teams that would push their current QB in front of a freight train if they could have these guys.

Correct, the only teams that wouldn't are New England, Denver, Green Bay, New Orleans, Atlanta, New York Giants, and maybe Seattle.

The picks happened for the following two reasons, neither of which have anything to do with him being a rookie: (1) They asked him to throw downfield far more than just about any other quarterback in the league. The Colts called a lot of deep balls and long throws--part of this was because the Colts were usually playing from behind, but part of it is that was just their offense. (2) The Colts' O-line is absolutely atrocious. When Luck got good protection, he didn't throw picks.

The Colts have a ton of cap space, and I can practically guarantee that a lot of it will be used this offseason on retooling the offensive line. (The entire defense could use an upgrade too...)

The world of Colts fans is practically giddy right now.

^ The rams had their chance.....

And the redskins traded quite a pit for that pick, maybe more then pushing a QB in front of a train.

Whats seattle paying for their star, rookie QB?

And they're getting late 1st round picks in return and are sticking with a middling QB.

ACL or not, I'll take my chances w RGIII.

Foles has his moments. He's still too inconsistent. His deep ball is pretty damn good, though.

Russel Wilson is better than either Luck or RG3 and he should have been rookie of the year.

Against the Raiders and a Packers team missing Rodgers, Cobb, Matthews, and (I think) Raji. Next week he gets another gift playing the Skins' mildly retarded secondary.

So, in other news, grass is green.

BTW - Section 8 is on record as having said "black people aren't smart enough to play QB", and RGIII should "play in the CFL like Warren Moon". Disgusting comments from the board's biggest racialismist.

He ahd a bad ganme against Dallas, but he has since improved immensely. His long ball has been damn good, bu he also has speedy receivers.

Luckily RGIII has extra muscles in his legs that lets him be more mobile than "traditional pocket-passers" who must win games using strategy rather than raw athleticism.

I'm not 100% sold on Foles, but I am starting him this week in FF.

But the Luck/RGIII dichotomy — an easy one to establish, considering that they went one-two in last year’s draft — pays short shrift to the Seattle Seahawks' Russell Wilson. Get it? Because he’s short! Russell Wilson is very short. He has also performed comparably to Robert Griffin and Andrew luck in the first two years of his career: something you’d never know from the coverage of the three.

Here’s a look at their aggregate stats so far:

• Wilson: 17-6; 63.3 percent completion rating; 4,607 yards passing; 37 TDs; 14 INTs; 7.9 Y/A; 97.2 QB rating; 812 yards rushing; four rushing TDs

• Griffin: 11-10; 63.5 percent completion rating; 4,946 yards passing; 28 TDs; 11 INTs; 7.8 Y/A; 95.2 QB rating; 1,048 yards rushing; seven rushing TDs

• Luck: 16-7; 55.8 percent completion rating; 5,948 yards passing; 33 TDs; 21 INTs; 7.0 Y/A; 91.3 QB rating; 438 yards rushing; eight rushing TDs

Luck and Wilson have the same number of total touchdowns. Wilson has fewer interceptions than Luck and a higher completion percentage. Wilson has the highest yards per attempt. Wilson has the best record.

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/russell-wilson-stands-tall-among-andrew-luck,-robert-griffin-III-all-quarterbacks-102413

I think the Luck-Love is a bit overboard. He's a good quarterback, but I'm not convinced he's the second coming of Aaron Rodgers just yet.

The Luck fan-boi thing is getting kind of weird. Luck is the best of the bunch so long as you don't consider things like stats or wins.

I may need to keep Foles for the rest of the season, even if they are killing me today with the rushing touchdowns.
