Griffin. The dude has a cannon for an arm, can run, and appears to be a decent human being.

Neither.

Zzzzz Foles, the QB for Arizona, may be better than either. He's a peach hiding in plain sight thanks to his awful coach and team, but the dude can play. He's 6'5" too. He's a definite first rounder. We'll see if he's better than either in five years, a la Tom Brady, who came from some 6th round crack in the spacetime continuum.

Dan McGuire was 6'8" and also had a middling college career, before the Seahawks picked him up and rode him to glory in the early 90s!

Dan McGwire (brother of Mark, by the way) probably didn't do so well becuase he wore that Darth vader visor on his helmet, indoors at the Kingdome.

Looks like Griffin's stock has risen immensly - he's now the overwhelming consensus #2 at this point.

I think both these guys are smart and hardworking and will avoid the jamarcus russell or ryan leaf issues of the past. However I dont think either is as good as Elway, Newton, Manning, Manning who are other first picks.

Luck reminds me of Matt Ryan. Good quarterback but not hall of fame.

RGIII is the like Dante Culpepper. He'll be good but not great.

If it were me I would trade down and draft one of Tannehill or Zzzzz Foles Later. Maybe even coussins or see if I could take Jimmy Clausen off carolinas hands for a fifth rounder.

First of all, nobody knows how these guys are going to shake out, let alone what kind of previous QBs they will resemble. Mel Kiper and his hair study this shit 24hrs a day and he thought Jimmy Clausen was "can't miss".

That said, you have to bite the bullet and go for it despite the crappy odds.

I guess not everyone learned from the Herschel Walker deal.

Three first rounders plus a 2nd rounder to move up four spots? Brutal.

Well done by the Rams.

It's not that far from the Eli Manning deal, and that worked out ok for both teams, though (quite a bit) more for the Giants.

Steep price, but people referencing Ricky Williams or Herschel Walker are missing the mark.

Anyone trading away multiple high picks for a rb is psychotic. QB is the only position you can make a justification for cashing in some of your future. A good QB can last 10+ years. A good RB doesn't control the game like a QB, and can get you 5 yrs before production starts falling -- and usually that production falls off a cliff.

Rumor is Browns wanted to offer a similar deal, but Fisher is buddies with Shanny so he got the trade.

Btw, perhaps the below is one of the reasons the skins paid up. It's the reason me and the rest of the DC fan base said "Fuck it. Reach for him". Try not to throw-up in your mouth when reading some of these names:

Quarterback(s)
2011 Rex Grossman (13) / John Beck (3)
2010 Donovan McNabb (13) / Rex Grossman (3)
2009 Jason Campbell (16)
2008 Jason Campbell (16)
2007 Jason Campbell (13) / Todd Collins (3)
2006 Mark Brunell (9) / Jason Campbell (7)
2005 Mark Brunell (15) / Patrick Ramsey (1)
2004 Mark Brunell (9) / Patrick Ramsey (7)
2003 Patrick Ramsey (11) / Tim Hasselbeck (5)
2002 Shane Matthews (7) / Patrick Ramsey (5) / Danny Wuerffel (4)
2001 Tony Banks (14) / Jeff George (2)
2000 Brad Johnson (11) / Jeff George (5)

Luck/RGIII is going to be a repeat of Manning/Leaf.

Again, was Philip Rivers vs Eli Manning comparable to Peyton and griffin? granted rivers was the #4 pick, but it was pretty close. Idon't see why both of them can't be pro-bowl type selctions, and throw in the fact that neither of them are knuckleheads at the level of Leaf.

It was nice to see griffin cheering on the Baylor women's hoops team, by the way.

It's pretty funny how attached the Skins fan base is getting to RG3. The whole base would be deflated if they wound up with the consensus #1 Luck.

RG III also has a great personality and seems to be an interesting, intelligent and decent person. Luck is intellgient and decent, but he's duller than dishwater.

Looks like RG is winning this one; I recall peyton manning starting awfully slow as well, but Luck was supposed to be the more polished of the two, and ready to go pro asap.

Reminds me of the Buddy Ryan era wherr the Eagles had the best QB in the NFL and no playbook for him.

Reid is a fomrer QB coach and as stubborn as a mule. You cna forget abot his changing adn drawing up more plays for McCoy.

he would muhc have Vick run throug 300 pound linement or throgh a bal down the field nto double coverage
