You’d think India would expect it by now, in the 12 ICC matches played between the two countries, they’ve only won 3. A 25% win ratio isn’t great, but they do worse against NZ in ICC matches than against any other country. Indians just can’t handle themselves in a pub, it’s not in their culture.

Throwing their wickets away like the Injuns, except for Smith, going for a ton. They have to bat into the last over.

Great finish, Aus fucked up not batting into the last over. Advantage England! Not a big score to chase, but first worldcup semifinal in these guys lifetimes, pressure might get to them. This tight cricket like last night is more exciting than a 450 runfest. I think they’re 30 runs short of a close match. England to win with an over to spare.

Being a pub team, do England have the game to adapt and chase a relatively low score?

All will depend on Root to get the singles I reckon.

If two pub teams make the final do we have compulsory pint skulls as each wicket falls, or at least two pints between innings? It’s only fair. We know the English team can take their beers, maybe the Kiwis would be disadvantaged. Cheers!!!

Not sure what to make of this, Aus all out for 223, yesterday India all out for 221. England all out next for 219? This is really exciting cricket, fuck 450 for 6.

Lords, England's worst ground for home results.

Now that we've got the pessimism out of the way.

Why were there plenty of consistently empty seats at edgbaston?

I dont understand it.

I read at one point that 95% of all WC seats had been sold, even non-Engkand matches.

Are they telling fibs?

Charging ludicrous ticket prices?

No we are ecstatic at making the semis, considering where Australian cricket was 6 months ago. Some poor Oz batsman had to get 7 stitches in his jaw after a somewhat vicious short ball. Being the tough Ozzie he is he continued to bat. If he were English he’d be whimpering like a soft cock and writhing on the ground.

Any team can have a good day and any team can have a bad day. New Zealand have a good chance if they can transcend their own mediocrity for a couple of hours or maybe England get driven to the wrong ground by a crazed armed coach driver or something.

They fairly tore Australia a new one. What a difference a few days make, Aus have looked the goods for the entire competition, England were in danger of missing the semis. They’re now in with a perfect shot at a home World Cup win, with only the pub team standing in the way.

Important not to be complacent. Yes New Zealand are rubbish - we all agree on this - but this england team lost to Scotland and they’re about the same level, I should think. Could be a close game.

Really?

The two main objectives have been achieved
1. Qualification for knockouts
2. Australia not winning

If NZ win then good luck to them, it will be because they are the better 'team'

Then in 3 weeks the actual business of cricket starts, and I do believe the first test is at edgbaston.

Yep 6 months ago we were on track to be fighting it out for bottom spot with Afghanistan and South Africa. We had a great series in India and did extremely well in the World Cup until the semi. Australia have won the comp five times we can't always win it. Its good for cricket for some other country to win it for the first time.

Best thing about Carey was that despite being smacked in the head and blood pissing out over the pitch he still managed to catch his helmet before it fell on the stumps. Pretty extraordinary really. A good innings from Sooky Smith but not enough from the rest.

Please do see where i said that England opening bowlers let Australia off the hook in the 1st time they did meet in this tournament, and later were i said that Australia batting line up is far too brittle, and England do have a far solid more solid looking line up.

Did the last time they did meet prove me right, or did it prove me right!!

And Lincoln calls himself the 'Cricket Oracle'?

But on to the final, England do look the goods don't they, but i do think it is their match to lose, but the Johnny Cash mob continue to win games when people do write them off, and i do think they must be seen as some sort of a chance............................For me they are the ultimate 'Backs to the Wall' and 'Underdog' team, and seem to play their best when they are seen in this light.

Can the Kiwi's pull off another un-expected win?

Unexpected?

They're the third ranked ODI side, and finalists of 2015.

Geoffers is convinced they will win.

Lords is England's worst home ground for results.

England got beat there by Sri Lanka in the group stage, chasing a low score.
