Speaking of which, considering the match was in London you'd expect a nifty partisan crowd for India.

How many Aussie fans do you reckon were there?

The games in the west of the country (Cardiff, Bristol) have suffered so far.

The forecast doesn't look great.

Unless the Windies bowl them out for 100 (probable) this is a best chance for them to get a point.

Last year I think was our warmest June on record.

This month is looking to be our wettest.

If it happens, I'd feel aggrieved if Windies or Pakistan for dropping a point against 'inferior' opposition, through no fault of their own, as both teams are right in the mix for that 4th spot.

Of course, in 1992, winners Pakistan qualified for the semis, ahead of Australia, only because it pissed down in Adelaide after being bowled out for 74 by England.

Once again Stephen calls on insults and name calling in an effort to prove his point.

But here is what the Indian captain said in response to the booing in the crowd.

I do think that India/OZ match showed that if India do not have a shocker in the finals they will win it, they look very good and very solid in all departments.

And good on the Indian skipper for sticking up for Smith, he did show some class there.

While the people that were booing didn't.
England might have chased that total. Or collapsed trying. Australia were ridiculously slow for the first 30 overs.
We’re fucked.

Warner had between 40 and 50 dot balls.

The Australian plan was not to loose early wickets, and built and innings that the run rate improved as the innings wore on, and mainly it did not work it was down to the exellent work by the Indian bowling.

They also had a plan to bowl straight, and not wide to not give the Aussie batsmen any chance to use the short boundries square of the wicket, and they stuck to the plan and won.

I think we should give some credit to the Indian attack.

So far the Windies and Pakistan have a right to feel aggrieved at dropping a point against inferior opposition. That point could be crucial at deciding 4th place.

But the best 4 teams currently sit in slots 1 to 4.

My prediction in pole position.

Australia vs Pakistan

Should be / have been a cracker of a ODI today.

As it's being held in Taunton, Somerset (not far from where i am) I dont think they are fitting in 100 overs.

Dry in the morning, looking worse later.

Hope they are sensible and make it a T20 style match from the bat.

They wont do that SD....its not in the laws of Cricket to do that....they should but they wont.

Theres a fair bit of moaning going on over on the cricinfo forum...people are saying there should have been reserve days for rained off matches....not sure it would have helped given that every day is shit weather atm...

I hope we get a decent game today and on Friday.

Yes Andy you are 100% correct here....................................................................But do remember this is an English summer.

And as you all know i do usually know i do not comment on a game that is in progress, but Australia 0 for 100 on a pitch that the ball is moving?

Is there a Indian bookie about, or so far have the Aussies been lucky?

So, after facing three from four of the weakest teams in the competition, the Kiwis face their first 'real' match today and we will get to see what they are made of. It's going to be a tough run in for them, with the Saffers the only 'bye' in their last 6 games.

Yes. South Africa made England look good.

And England have lost the only real test they've had so far, Pakistan. We will get to see how good they are when the Windies are putting it right up 'em on Friday.

It was a shame the Afghanis didn't get a chance to have a 'crack' against South Africa.

Once again.

When Pakistan won the WC in Australia in 1992..

It was only because the match against England in Adelaide was a wash out.

After England had bowled them out for 70 odd runs.

Pakistan would have been knocked out if that match had progressed.

It is our wettest June on record. Much of France is locked in the same weather pattern. Last year we had our warmest June ever.
