West Indies v England 3rd test

Post by shunter » Fri Feb 08, 2019 10:06 pm

They’re dropping Foakes and bringing back Jennings.

Foakes is a better batsman than Jennings and a better wicki than Bairstow.

They could literally open with Foakes and be stronger.

I’m thinking Ballance, Bell and Archer for the ashes,

I've just switched on...I saw the first few overs ...no surprise Jennings was out cheaply...he has to go.

If we can finish this session without losing another wicket i'd say we've edged the day....right now we're 136-4....nice to see Butler leaving everything...we have 5 days after all.

He’s been dropped from the team twice. It’s beyond a joke now. Just get the guy who drives the coach to go out there with squash racket. Fucks sake.

Yep. Getting to 37 is a significant achievement these days.

England looking much better now thanks nifties from Buttler and the drunken thug.

Haven't the Windies won the series. So this is a match that doesn't count.

So what you are really trying to say is that its friendly. Is that it?

That would have been interesting going to the cricket in the Windies. I haven't seen a cricket match outside of Australia. I'd like to see a match in India some day.

I saw a lot of sporting matches on my last loser backpacking trip. I went to soccer matches in Iran, Georgia, Armenia, Spurs at Wembley, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan. I went to the Islamic Games in Azerbaijan, volleyball in Iran, Ice Hockey and water polo in Hungary.

Never been to the West Indies. TBH I've never been particularly interested in going there.

I did think that most of the Pommies on here [And a couple of wantabee poms] that said that games like this don't count?

After the Aussies thrashed the English at football [soccer]in their own back yard years ago, wasn't the score 3-1?

Ok Jennings to bat. Is he going to get a scratchy 30 and then get another go on the grounds he was looking a bit better up until he nicked off wafting outside the offstump. If england have any sense this is literally his last innings.

You silly old tool.

Anyway, Jennings got 20 so that’s his career ending in a comparative personal high.

Pardon me again if i don't name call and act like a child, but don't you understand that the West Indies have already won the series?

You seem not to understand, so i will say it again, very loudly, and very slowly this time so that you might.

I agree with Lincoln and am confused why the point continually needs to be made. There's no such thing as a dead rubber in test cricket. A test is a stand alone concept. That's why they call it a "Test".

And no one wants a white wash.

Plus, Root needs to keep his average up, which has just dipped under 50.

Plus 5 ODI matches coming up.

Test matches are a side show to the main event this year.
