Australia v India ODI

Post by Geoffers » Sat Jan 12, 2019 3:55 am

New Zealand beat Lanka yesterday in the T20 to make a clean sweep of all 3 formats of the game. Australia must be salivating over their upcoming games against these easybeats.

288 is about 40 runs not enough, India should get there with 6 overs to spare.

Plenty of schoolboy errors from India in the field will see them chase about 20 more than what they should have been.
A bowling attack of Richardson,Siddle,Behrendorff,Lyon and Maxwell isn't going to strike fear into the hearts of the Indians.

14 runs off 7 overs. 1 no ball, 6 off free hit, 2 wides and 1 leg bye. So four runs off the bat excluding the freebie.

Dhoni gone. Advantage Australia. 8 runs per over required for the last 17 overs.

Good win for Oz, getting 3 quick wickets made the job easy. India never got close to the required run rate, even Dhoni only batted at at strike rate of 50. Congratulations Australia for your first win of the year.

Dhoni often goes like that - batting slower than an established partner and then exploding at the end. It looks a bit odd when it doesn’t come off, but as often as not it works.
We’re fucked.

Dhoni got one of the worst LBW decisions I've ever seen.It pitched more than a ball's width outside leg but there was nothing he could do about it,they had run out reviews.
I don't why Rishabh Pant was overlooked. He was fresh off a 159 in the 4th Test at almost a run-a-ball.He should be in the team even if only as a batsman.
