Here's a song you may never have heard, sung by someone you may never have heard of:

And here's something about the singer herself: Alice Faye

Her voice sounds very similar to Karen Carpenter's, North American. That was very nice. I really like the Pop Music from those days.

Karen Carpenter:

That's interesting! I paused the Karen Carpenter video as she was singing, then went to the Alice Faye video, started it up, and once she began singing I went back to the Karen Carpenter video. As it happened they were singing just about the same note. Yes, very much alike. Thanks for pointing it out.

One more of the man BBking says 'to me he is the best of modern guitarists. Period.'......

Earl hooker is one of the guys who invented 'it' while bands like the beatles were 'producing' albums based on the latest fads (fads based on the sounds coming from smokey bars filled with musicians like earl hoooker and his friends) for tween girls and sucks like led zeppelin just plain ripped it off....

This live clip is oarsome.... Jimis dad?.....

Thanks cogs....

I must give credit where its due, and thats kdhx.org. I pull a lot of these songs from thier shows after ive heard them.
The best thing about st louis, is that ive basically never had to listen to a commercial radio station, as KDHX is to one of the best community radio station in the country.
All volunteers spinning their own tunes, basically no commercials, its all paid by member donations.

You can streeem the shows online, back 2 weeks.
http://kdhx.org/radio/881-kdhx-schedule ... -playlists

A lot of these songs come from the Soul Selector, papa ray, and a bunch of earlier postings came from a show thats no more since the dj passed.
The rythem section on tues is great for funk and upbeat dance jazzy stuff.
Big bang is soul and rare pop from the 60s, early 70s.
Sheri danger does dangerous curves, she is as beautiful as she sounds, its all female music cross most all genres, but mostley it rocks. Great show.
Skas the limit is a st louis institution.

And my favorite, of course, is the greasers lunchbox......

No, not Lou Reed but the Mac.

After finishing a brilliant concert in Amsterdam, they've suddenly cancelled their forthcoming Australian tour.

For quite obvious reasons in 2013 for elderly musicians....: John McVie being treated for cancer.

The best things in life don't come with a price
Forget what they say cause I know they ain't right
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

A walk in the park, a kiss in the dark
The way she looks back every time that we part
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire

Maybe I'm biased, but you're just the finest
Girl that I've met I think you're priceless
All that I need is you
It is you it is you it is you

I'm not going to lie the money'd be nice
Cause I could take you out every night
I'd spend it all on you
It is you it is you it is you

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

Cause you make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire

If money gets tight I'll be alright
As long as you're there, there by my side
Cause you make me feel
Like a millionaire

Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh

We could be broke
But I couldn't care
Cause I've got it all
When you're standing there

Cause you make me feel
Like I'm a millionaire
The moment I set my eyes on you girl
I'm like the richest guy in the world
You make me feel
Like a millionaire

My morning jacket are a most exceptionally great live band.....
This DVD concert was released in 2006, and was a great time for them musically.

My favorite air guitar band, this is the show you bring inflatable guitars to, though its hard to tell through the 1st few songs, around 17 minutes they start to rock the feck out with the song 'holiday', which should be on any travelers ipod. They fade in and out, as the up down energy with the crowd is a great part of their style, and builds till the end....
OMFG...... 'Dondante' @1:07!!!..... Then into 'run through' STFU!!!!..... Melt!
If you prefer, air drumming with them is also totally welcome, meaning, be sure to check out 'animal' on drums.

Take the time get into, and enjoy this ENTIRE concert by a great band at the top of their live performance game, skip to 5 minutes to start the show.

Satisfied........
