I am always surprised at how upsetting the recent losses have been. In my head I think 'Stew internet weirdos'...but man when something happens..it hurts to the core. This one is doing my head in slightly. It feels like he just posted about wanting his 3some..then a post about having cancer and now he's gone.

I don't know for sure, shunter, but I'd say no older than 45 or so.

I am sorry to read this sad news. I always enjoyed his posts and silently rooted for his future threesome however unlikely it seemed to be.

RIP, Guvner.

I just want to say, hopefully without seeming an arse, that’s Curtis didn’t ‘lose a battle’, he didn’t ‘fight for as long as he could’, an incurable disease killed him.

Cancer is a cunt, and no one beats through choice. it’s just luck of the draw with what you get and how it gets treated. You survive, you’re fucking lucky.
I agree 100%

I have survived an incurable cancer for 7 years now, while many in my cancer support group have died from the same cancer. I didn't do anything different from any of them, I was just flat out lucky. You don't "fight" cancer. You get lucky or you don't.

Absolutely crushing. He was a good guy. I wish the best to his family as they face this sudden, maddening, unjust and devastating loss.

Hope he gets what he wants on the other side.

I recognize Guvner's handle, but nothing beyond that. It looks like I missed out.

Sounds like he was a great father. I'm sure his son will always remember his love.

CB, I was the same until someone mentioned the threesome. I don't mean to hurt anyone's feelings but to be honest unless someone has a very distinct personality on here or I have met them irl I often have trouble keeping everyone straight. I am sure many feel the same about me.

I haven’t talked to him, but his brother does have a link to this thread. From the sound of it here, as many people as have met Guv, have also met his bro. He was familiar with this place, and some of its characters. I don’t think that there’s anything shocking, or damning here. Admiration, sadness, a few laughs. I’d be so lucky as to be remembered in such a light.

This is devastating news.

I remember guvner posting about his family last year, and then about his cancer diagnosis just like it was yesterday. It seems like he was robbed of what should have been the best decades of his life. But ultimately none of us controls when our time here ends. All we can do is live by our principles, invest our love in friends, family, and especially children, and know that we will always live on in them. It sounds like that's how guvner lived his life.

It's still far too soon.

Rest in peace, Curtis. We'll have to catch one on the other side.
