We should have a memorial branch, as distinct from famous dishes. If we're all going to be here in 2025, and assuming mutha does die before then, then there's going to be more of these threads celebrated our fleeting existences.

A backup, for in the event of Muthas passing, would also be good so everyone's efforts aren't lost in time, like tears in rain.

It sounds like FP's send off was beautifully done and so meaningful. I had no idea he is a fellow Michigander. I shouldn't be surprised...it seems like a lot of Michiganders end up in other places.

Can the memorial branch also include banned posters?

Thank you Deb and Dale for coming here and sharing with us. FP was obviously appreciated and loved very much by his family and friends. He will be missed.

I met fools in Phnom Penh a decade ago, in about 2006, or maybe it was 2007, along with Dallan and Aero and her Mr Aero. He was interesting to listen to, and he was interested in listening to others. A nice man, very consistent with the image of a reasonable person he projected on the stew.

I'm very sorry for the loss his family will be feeling. RIP.

Hi Debra,

I am a poster that was on annual leave in Canada and off the board so just saw your message.

Horrible news and especially horrible to lose someone in such a random accident.

I always enjoyed foolsprogress's posts and really liked his attractive avatar but never met him. Please accept my condolences to you and the rest of his family.

I have a file of stuff people post on politicalstew that makes me laugh out loud and this is my favorite from foolsprogress:

I remember discussing that very concept with him and hearing him laugh hard when he pronounced the part about the cat! He was such a funny and entertaining person. Thanks SO much for that wonderful memory. I appreciate it.

Smoker, in Travel Journalism, I'm writing about some of our travel adventures together. Have a look if you like. I get cheers and jeers for them, but I think if you liked Foolsprogress, you might enjoy reading some of them.

It's just hilarious! Thanks for letting me know that. He really loved this forum.

I know that many of you won't have known this, as it's so hard to know someone from online, but....often when he read posts, he would laugh really hard! He lit up all over when he was laughing. His eyes crinkled, and he was thoroughly delighted and happy.

That cat remark...I had heard that several times. Ken loved cats. He loved it that he understood them, and he loved it that they would come to him, loved him, and he knew how to pet them just right.

As a long time TT and stewbie lurker please accept my condolences.
While lurking here whenever I saw fp was participating in a thread I knew his contributions would be worthy reading.

Deb and Dale,

As you can see, fools left his mark on this place in the best of ways. His posts were always well worth reading, no matter where you were coming from, yourself. I think it's safe to say that the vast majority of posters here who ever read a foolsprogress post knew in pretty short order that "this is a unique voice that I should pay special attention to"

Please forgive my far too late condolences. One of the things about this place is that it is something like a good neighborhood bar: people drift in and out all the time, and on their own schedule. Some are daily regulars, some stay for a while and move on, others are here and gone in the blink of an eye. I was away, and only now took a look in Famous Dishes to find this sad news

RIP foolsprogress. Your body is dead, but a little bit your spirit lives on in the lives of everyone you came in contact with

Deb, it should look something like the above to link a photo, but obviously it's not working for me either.

Wilster--I will get this fixed! I was being slow yesterday. I was trying to figure out why I could post photos before, but seem to be unable to now.

I need to use photo bucket or something. I think I did a simple drag and drop before---didn't I? Ah, who knows. Anyway, I'd love to share an anniversary photo of FP when I figure it out!

Yes, you need to use something to host it, like tinypic. It looks like you're trying to share it from your desktop.

Or use Tapatalk on your smartphone, a simple upload of a picture, no hosting, then go back and edit on a computer if need be to make comments to the posting; I find that easier sometimes than trying to make the posting on my smartphone.
