Take it easy, purps.
This is the only musical: the mouth. And hopefully the brain attached to the mouth. Right? The brain, more important than the mouth, is the brain. The brain is much more important.

I've written him some fitting words, just need to have the strength to say it. I am so thankful we were back in Northern Ireland, with my family and friends around as this is too unbearable to deal with alone.

Purps, I am so sorry.

This was so terribly sudden and unexpected. I hope that being with your family and those who love you today helps to begin the road to recovery. Take care, and all the best with delivering those words.

We had just started our round the world 4 week holiday, beginning in Beijing, then seeing family in England and Ireland, before heading to California, Tokyo and Malaysia. We'd only been in Derry one day when he had a major heart attack on Monday night. I was with him at the time and begged him to stay with me. From the sounds of it, he had no chance. He never had any symptoms so never had medical checks. Lesson learnt, is get regular tests done. Life is so fragile.

We were supposed to be seeing Pez next week. How surreal.

Purps, sometimes even major health tests wont help. My FIL died of a major heart attack only four days after a general health check, EKG including. Life is very fragile and precarious indeed.
We should cherish it while we have it.

You've been on my mind all week, of course - ehs too. And we were really looking forward to seeing you two again.

Some of you may recall their romance. Yes, they met online, and was first introduced to the Stew as "IT Guy." Not too long after they met ~ 5 years ago, he helped her move, and the ladies here decided he was a keeper. Nice guy. A few months later, I met my nice guy (ehs) online, and he helped me through all sorts of trauma before we settled in as a couple.

In the Fall of 2009, I told ehs that some random strangers off the internet were coming to LA, and I'd never met them, but I'd offered them my spare room to stay in for the weekend. He thought this was odd but said OK, he'd stay with me and we'd all go out and do stuff. ehs and Mr. Purps hit it off right away. J had sparkling blue eyes, was cheeky and funny and played a mean guitar. (J and ehs even looked a little alike.) We headed straight for Hollywood and some guitar stores, where J tested a bunch of them, then did touristy stuff and kicked around Venice Beach. It was a great weekend, and ehs was beginning to understand my internet friends thing.

Then we learned they were going to get married, so we figured why not? We'd never been to Ireland. We were just engaged ourselves and had a wonderful time at their wedding in a castle in Northern Ireland. Bride and groom were beautiful, and the festivities went on all day. They talked about coming to our wedding in California, but decided move to Australia the same month instead.

So our next trip to Australia, we managed to work in a visit to Adelaide. Two no-longer-random strangers off the Internet (+ ehs' cousin) lived there, so why not. We met again at their favorite wine bar on a stinking hot day and enjoyed a visit to their place.

Anyone who is friends with purps on FB knows what a rich life and love they had. They went from "should we bring French wines when we move to Adelaide?" to organizing bus trips to Mac Laren Vale and other wine regions with 18 of their closest friends. J was mad about purps, and she about him (obviously). I will miss seeing him every few years, and I'm so devastated for my friend purps.

Purps,

I am so sorry to hear this. I am glad though if he had to die he did so while traveling with you. After reading what Pez said I am sure he wouldn't have had it any other way.

I am also glad you are with family at this difficult time. May you find peace.

My condolences, and a suggestion that I hope won't be too late: If it will be unbearable for you to speak the words you wrote, ask someone else to read them, acknowledging you as their author. My youngest brother was killed while in the army, and I was asked by the priest who was to conduct the funeral if I would speak. I told him that I absolutely could not. Another brother spoke in my place.

My sincere wishes for your finding some comfort in those around you.
I enjoy reading NorthAmerican's posts. So well-written and interesting except for the dull parts.--Nines
