Thanks for the new board, mutha!

PS: Can we have a foe like function that is appropriately labelled for filtering out posters that are boring to the point of tears? "Foe " is a strong word for someone that is really just cluttering up the screen with posts that are too idiotic to prompt much more than slight annoyance. Yeah, i'm talking about grecian.

Calm down, little girl. I just requested an enhancement and provided a rationale.

If you didn't care for my post, why didn't you "just scroll on by"?

More forums (i.e. the nerd forum) is probably a bad idea. You really need a TON of active members to justify breaking down forums into subforums. In fact, with the number of active members this place has, you can only really justify two forums -- politics and othershit.

People get into ruts, and then simply don't check out other forums. They forget they're there, or they simply don't want to have to jump around all the time.

Yes and no. I don't think willy nilly adding a bunch of forums is the right thing to do, but it has its uses. For example, I think it's handy to have the travel questions in one forum and enjoy looking at the new posts in there when they pop up. With the sports posts it's kind of nice we don't have a ton of (for example) baseball posts spamming the other forum and for the people that enjoy sports you can go there to see them altogether. Sometimes a new forum can spawn new conversations, for example I could see myself posting more in a video game forum than I would about video games in the normal forum where most people don't care about them.

I would agree that you shouldn't go overboard with it though or it can be counterproductive.

Spawning branches is probably what contributed to the demise of the TT; I vaguely recall them opening a branch for just about everyone, which resulted in some VERY insular little cluster fucks.

Being a "newbie" I'm unable to make a comparison, but I will say that when I joined, I found the black background made it difficult to read and found how to change the board style. Prosilver is great, easy to read and not too bright. I like it.

Just a suggestion, could we have a forum/branch/whatever similar to SiT on TT please? Discussing grammar, asking which is more correct re a word is very useful and interesting.

Separate branches are good for travel and sports because the posts don't get buried so fast.

That would be oarsum, but we merely tend to mock those with bad grammar and spelling, when it suits us, except for a few posters like Polardude (who can't type) and Piel! (whose handle is all about mocking a former poster's grammar, spelling, syntax etc.).

Those questions would do fine in Streeterville anyway.

It's Piel!speak for awesome.

Ceh! = Che! an expression of joy! and revolushun
fued = feud
Oblivia = Bolivia

Beyond that you'll have to search on the Piel! handle and see if you can understand anything it says (except when it breaks character, as some of its owners get lazy and don't like using their own handles).

I just noticed that some fonts don't show up on the black board.

Purplegemini, who writes in purple, is illegible for example.
