Robot becomes confused. Cannot understand why it has become an apologist for those covering up the rape and abuse of teenage disaster survivors. Robot thought it was a good robot.

Robot’s programming has developed a fault. Makes excuses for those covering up child rape. Still thinks it is in the right.

Poo's jumping up and down on the Oxfam question, seems to be driven if they in the charity is 'left wing' or not.

But i do think we are missing the point here, i know that people in Fiji after cyclone Gita are not interested at all if people helping them are 'left' or 'right' wing.

I don't think they would give a fuck, unlike others seem to.

Did he?

Seems like what he's doing is conflating all use of prostitutes by in-country Oxfam workers (quite bad!) with people soliciting sex off underage disaster victims in return for aid (much much worse!). Then he's using this as a reason to write off any good work by Oxfam, and accuse anyone who doesn't follow this logic of 'minimising' and 'making excuses for the cover up of child rape', as quoted.

"If you give money to Oxfam, you're paying for jizz on the face of a fourteen-year-old earthquake victim." Yeah sure okay. It's the moral logic of a teenager, and a damb teenager at that. It's exactly equivalent to accosting an American on the street in London in 2005 and demanding they decry the Serious War Crimes of George W Bush. You will condemn this thing in the terms I dictate, or you are morally responsible for every wrong it commits.

Don't be hard on him Baba.

He's a slave to his work. The trotters are a blur, likewise the Goldilocks wig. He's reduced to shitting his chair, for fear that he might miss a top tip if he leaves his station for so much as two minutes in the loo. The only food he's had is whatever dead skin he's been able to lick off his forearms. When the postman stops by with a sack of top tips from Stewbie lefties, he begs him to pee into his mouth for the water content. It's a sad, yet noble, yet also hilarious thing.

The UK government, today, has finally discontinued the use of tax money to fund Oxfam.

There is a G*d.
Statement from the International Development Secretary on Oxfam

The UK government has said no to granting anymore funds to Oxfam for the time being, untill the charity can prove it meets the government's OWN requirements.

The UK government seems to be saying that the charity needs to meet its OWN government standards, if it wants to start again recieve funding from the government.

It seems to me to be perfectly fair.

Yes, being 'tainted' is a very good way to put it, the image of Oxfam may have been 'tainted' by a few of their aid workers, but it remainds that most of their workers find this kind behavior completely against what they stand for.

Please don't paint ALL Oxfam workers with the same very broad brush, as some seem to be doing here.

I think that’s true, the real test is what organizations do about it when they find out about it. Oxfam seems to be failing on that count just like the Catholic Church, remains to be seen how others have handled it when they have known.

I don't want Oxfam to go broke. They (Osfam America) send me a check every month.

I am assured that charitable gift annuities are secured by all the assets of the charity and that we are at the front of the line if the organization goes belly up, but I imagine there might be some hassle even so. I don't like hassle.

I agree.

Oxfam’s strategy of allowing other women and children to be sexually assaulted rather than fess up - then hinting at a shadowy conspiracy rather than working out how to make amends to individuals - doesn’t seem to have worked. For some reason.

There are other charities who carry out the same work as Oxfam without having sex with the locals.
There probably aren't, to be honest. Nor any armies, or political parties, or police forces. Or libertarian clubs.
Nice addition, asshole.

In other news, mad puppies flew the planes into the WTC.
I don't count you as a libertarian or member of a club.

To be clear, my point was I do not exclude any organisation from the risk of sexual abuse. Guru's point about the key being what they do when they find out is important. The other is that organisations should assume that the risk of sexual abuse exists and mitigate it, just as they should control for risks of fire or fraud.

Libertarians taint everything.
That's the kind of bold flavor they enjoy in Albuquerque!
