Sometimes the simplest things are the nicest. Just bread, soft white cheese, a bunch of herbs, and soft and moist dates. And it was a freebie.Image

Starchy, gluey, delicious ice cream. Half rose water, half saffron. With pistachios on the top. Image

Dizi. Chick pea and meat stew. The gravy drained into a soup bowl, bread broken into it, and the remaining stew mashed into a thick puree at the table, served with herbs.Image

The bread (in general) was great when it was freshly cooked. An hour later it was like leather though.

I loved the place, kiki. The highlight was the people, of course. And the only regret was that I wasn't able to be independent, and enjoy their offers of hospitality. I need an alternative passport/nationality next time. Having to be with a guided tour was a barrier.

Wow, the last time I posted in this thread I'd never been to Hong Kong. Since then I've gone 5 times.
