How is ToyTone's lawsuit going?

I believe he is currently with his lawyer assessing what kind of claim he will make and how damages should be calculated.

My feeling is that he is looking at, oooh, at least a gazillion.

He'll have to admit to Stewbies inside his head for an IIED claim.

He didn't flounce. He went outside for a break, but didn't come back. I think he lurks occasionally and I suspect he might have the Piel handle every once in a while. There was a post on the politics branch that I thought might be his. He posted on YC once that I saw. His handle is Psycholiberalfreak on TT.

Those are just my suspicious. I have nothing to back that up.

The Jim Kramer "Buy plenty of Bear Staerns" award for unsolicited finanical advice has many candidates:

- Cogito, who claimed that housing prices in the Uk would never go down, because it's an island.

- Pauldeba, who claimed that there is no such thing as speculation in what determines the price of gas, which has somehow gone from $140 plus a barrell to under $40in a single year.

- Antieverything, who has a magic way you can earn 4% on property involving apartment buildings, plus his brilliant takes on macro economics in the UK.

They're all so good, how can you choose?

For the "Oh, how the mighty have fallen" award, I nominate Loki

The former Gold Standard of trolls, now reduced by some feat of corrupted alchemy to a leaden shit-slinger of the fourth degree

Much like the rock band that gets signed to a major label and never makes a decent album again, too much economic security has degraded the creative impulse beyond repair, leaving nothing but increasingly tired reworks of past hits

A post-Beatle McCartney of our very own

I find it a bit weird that people feel so vehemently about Loki. I must have missed the bad years with him or something.

I find him sort of amusing. He is like a grumpy guy who is always half joking about how much he 'hates' someone or something or some place... but it's obvious to see he doesn't.

What's the story here?
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

loki used to be the god of evil, at least in really cold places.

lately (s)he's reduced to begging for attention outside places that may have extra hotwings, diluted draft beers, or patrons that give a f*ck.

Actually, you missed the good years. He used to be really funny and had some very humorous original trolls. The biggest problem I have with him is 90% of his stuff is recycled, and not even the good stuff. If you like him now you would have really liked him back then.

I must admit he made laugh out loud a while back when his response to a particularly jumbled polar post about religion was something along the lines of "good heavens, the lad is speaking in tongues, he's caught the holy spirit". Sadly such moments are very rare these days.

I've gotten used to Loki's trolls about British food and being a fish-eating vegan. Of course some of us newbies from YC fell for them at first, but with no new posters around his schtick is getting tired.
