I've just read this and I'm stunned. You guys seemed to be one of the happy endings. I'm so very sorry.

Or I come home and go on the dole, which is humiliating for me.

Don't do that. Can't you invite your family to Australia over the Winter period?

Stunned to read this.

The new life you seemed to make for yourself with your husband was one of the best "real world" things to read about here on the Stew, and it always will be.

Without knowing you as well as others here do, it seems like carrying on with the new chapter of life you started in the sunny climes would be preferable to going on the dole in Ireland.

But that's not a decision you have to make right away. For now, try to find comfort and support in the love of family and friends, give it some time and it will get better.

My deepest sympathies for your loss. The pain from my brothers death was/is bad enough - I don't even want to imagine the loss of my husband. Sudden loss is a horrific thing to go through. I wish you lots of strength for getting though the next few months and years.

I agree about not making any big decisions now.

I remember reading about the whole romance and marriage here on the Stew. My deepest condolences. I'm glad you were with him so he wasn't alone.

I'm so sorry for your loss.

My small bit of advice, don't make any irreversible decisions for the next year. Be gentle with yourself.

Hugs.
