Can you be a meerkat? Lemurs are lovely, but meerkats are better.

Indeed. I'm surprised the ricetits Oztralians allow such disgusting terms as 'gay' and 'straight' to exist. Not to mention derogatory terms like 'male' and 'female'.

I don't see sexual orientation nor sex when I look at a human, merely a rich tapestry of indistinguishable cultural history that is neither alike nor different than any other culture or background.

The term 'diverse' implies all humans are not the same and disgusts me.

This is the original and should be the last thread on this. It's famous dishes material {mods}, not because of the who is on first, whats on second, and people quoting the wrong ones on the last two pages, but because Vince freaking pwned it and it's his to own. Read it from the beginning and see if you don't bust a gut, or think dayumm that's right, um errr wrong for the right reasons.

The thread has come to a logical conclusion but what I think odd about the conclusion is that it seems to suggest that for some its racist to have a purely genetic view of race. And that cant be right.

Yes, that's right. It's racist to consider that shared genetic heritage is a useful way of categorising people.

But how can it be racist just to acknowledge races exist? But if races are deemed not to exist then how is it even possible to be racist - by definition its not? Isnt the fact that people term things racist racist in itself becasue it implies race exists? This surely cant make sense?

It must be so...confusing...to be a Liberal.
How do you keep up with the changes that occur in how you Liberals must view things?
Now I remember: watch PBS, CBS, BBC, CBC, ABS and listen to NPR.

Us liberals are disagreeing. Unlike conservatives, who look for a leader, liberals (not all) try to jibe new views with their own.

In Australia, it is racist to deny someone the right to call him or herself an Aboriginal because his or her skin is not black in colour. That is the point we have been making throughout this.

While you have been saying if a person looks "white" (whatever that means) they shouldn't claim to be Aboriginal. That is a racist assumption in this country arising out of the history of the treatment of Aboriginal Australians.

We have tried to explain this several times. You don't get it. OK you don't get it.

Just shut the fuck up about it.
