Having only noticed shiny shoes today, I'd be surprised if he happened to be anything other than a lawyer.
We all secretly love Fr. Tony Abbot because he makes us all look a little bit cleverer. Discuss.

I can't read this thread. Will someone let me know if there's a breakthrough, or if someone says something really funny? Thanks!

Well- I will say that it is interesting to see the stew in full battle array. You oldies have spoken about this often- I didn't realize you were so given to understatement.

I sat next to man who was 'off his meds' on the train today. He glared, twitched, shuffled his papers (elbows akimbo), huffed and kept kicking me "accidentally". After a while I surmised he was angry at having someone sit next to him (before I got on the train he had spread his briefcase and papers all over the adjacent seat and tables).

We got to Waterloo. People started getting up, gathering papers, putting on coats and he just sat there, unmoving, glaring ahead.

Finally I said (I was on the inside seat): "May I get out?"

Him: "No, you'll move when I'm ready to move."

So I stood up and went to climb onto the table (so I could drop down into the aisle) at which point he did move.

Bizarre. Perhaps he was on his period.

He must have been. Or he needs to get laid, one of those.

My students' parents sometimes forget to give them their morning dose of whatever they're on. It' awful. i've considered sending them a friendly text message every morning, reminding them to give their kids their meds, but I'm not sure they'd appreciate the concern.

You should always keep a bottle in your desk drawer for students like that. Not for them, you.

As a parent who had to be sure that 3 of them got their meds- I would have been eternally grateful. Cause they may be bad during the day but you ought to see what it is like when they get home!

Some may recall that an aforementioned permabanned poster created an OP on YC claiming that a woman from (where I live) was "stalking" her on LinkedIn. The mods zapped it, but she convinced one person it was true (he has since gotten a clue).

Indeed.

I’m far more creeped out by posters sharing other posters info without their consent

That. Particularly as it's the 'nice' posters who often do it (in my experience). Either because they are genuinely naive, or because they are arrogant enough to think their opinion of someone trumps yours (the most common explanation), or because they are not as nice as they like to make out.
