Trumplings believe that Hilary Clinton ran a child sex ring in the basement of Ping Pong Pizza, yet they don’t believe five women who were molested by Roy Moore as children.

Must deflect, must deflect. Cannot focus on misdeeds of my political allies at any cost.

When will the ditchdigger tell us that the modern right doesn't buy sporting goods from Dick's?

I read the link. It said that feminists 25 years ago were wrong to not beleive Clinton's accusers.

And this makes it hypocritical for different people to be against a child moilester 25 years later in your eyes?

I actually agree that Clinton's accusers were treated shabbily though this is entirely different in a different era.

But yes, this is just knee jerk deflection. One day the modern right is appalled by sexual assault and the next it's no big thing. If you want credibility, have a consistent principle rather than situational ethics which the ditchdigger, argie and anno prefer to engage in.

Everybody is still at the 7th grade of reading comprehension. Sad!

As a thought experiment compare the ink on Senator Moore to the ink on Senator Menendez, and you may reach nirvana.

The good judge isn't a senator yet. You again deflect away from what you actually believe on sexual assault. There has been lots of coverage of the Menendez trial and I have no problem saying he should already quit by now.

You kids read the New Yorker piece where they visit his home town and it is pretty common knowledge that dude was cruising high school chicks to the point he may have be banned from the local mall?

Hard to take Moore as anything other than a pathological, ego tripper standing up there calling it a political smear and himself a Christian

I think in Alabama, Christian means immoral, white devil

Is anybody here still actually defending Moore, or have they just switched to talking about the Clintons or quietly left the thread?

I understand. It's hard to defend the accusations of molestation of the 16 year old waitress. It gets harder to keep writing these Alabama Republican girls off as opportunistic liberals or outside agitators. It must be hell to be Moore's wife and have to stand by your man as this preponderance of evidence builds up, knowing you have to honor and obey him forevermore.

I guess the best case scenario from the good Christian perspective is that he stopped being a pervert once he got married. But it doesn't usually work like that, does it?

I'm so glad he's staying in the race. The developing portrait of Moore just keeps getting worse and worse, and the whole world has a chance to see it.

He's a predator that prowls the high schools, yet he wants to outlaw homosexuaity. He was also a leading proponent of anti-Obama birtherism, which is something to keep in mind as he clings to his last shred of defense, that he is the victim of a witch hunt.

What a fine specimen of an Alabama politician. No wonder lavite was bragging him up so much.

I'm mostly doing the forum equivalent of popping wheelies on my dirt bike at this point. Slinking away is probably easier than saying Moore is unfit for office (I would also call him unfit based on his dismal views on civil rights and the separation of church and state).

The Republican party is in a dark, sick place right now. Maybe if the demonrats weren't such awful people they wouldn't have to sympathize with Nazis or support men who fuck children.

I mean look at this - the face of evil!

Image
I believe the United States of America is a land of laws, justice, freedom, equality, and opportunity.

I’ll take those values to the U.S. Senate and work hard for all the people of Alabama:

Everyone has the right to quality, affordable health care.
We must restore Alabama’s trust for its elected leaders.
I will defend a woman’s right to choose and stand with Planned Parenthood.
All children deserve a first-class education regardless of where they live.
College must be affordable without burdening a student with overwhelming debt.
I believe in science and will work to slow or reverse the impact of climate change.
It is past time we raise the minimum wage to a livable wage.
Women must be paid an equal wage for equal work at all levels.
Voter suppression is unAmerican – we must protect voting rights.
Discrimination cannot be tolerated or protected. America is best when it builds on diversity and is welcoming of the contributions of all.

Curious Robocall Seeks ‘Damaging’ Information On Moore

(WKRG) —

UPDATE 3:31 p.m. — The Executive Editor, Marty Baron, of the Washington Post released the following statement:

“The Post has just learned that at least one person in Alabama has received a call from someone falsely claiming to be from The Washington Post. The call’s description of our reporting methods bears no relationship to reality. We are shocked and appalled that anyone would stoop to this level to discredit real journalism.”

Another development involving the U.S. Senate race in Alabama. At least one person in our viewing area received a robocall seeking more damaging information about Roy Moore. Here is the text of that voicemail message received by Pastor Al Moore in Creola.

“Hi, this is Bernie Bernstein, I’m a reporter for the Washington Post calling to find out if anyone at this address is a female between the ages of 54 to 57 years old willing to make damaging remarks about candidate Roy Moore for a reward of between $5000 and $7000 dollars. We will not be fully investigating these claims however we will make a written report. I can be reached by email at albernstein@washingtonpost.com, thank you.”

Pastor Moore says he’s baffled about who might be behind the message. He said he sent a response to the email address provided but it came back undeliverable. We also tried the email address with the same result.

John Rogers with the Roy Moore campaign says it’s the first he’s heard of this type of robocall. We contacted the Washington Post but it would be highly unlikely that a newspaper would offer thousands of dollars for information, damaging or otherwise. We searched and could not find a record of a ‘Bernie’ or ‘Al Bernstein’ who works as a reporter at the Washington Post.

If any of you have received the same call, please let us know at producers@wkrg.com

Starr concluded that there wasn't enough evidence to pursue charges. Unfortunately Brodderick's accusations came towards the end of the investigation, and weren't made public until after the trial and the public was just "done" with the whole thing.

If she hadn't rebuffed Paula Jones attorneys, even making a deposition that nothing happened, it probably would have turned out a lot differently.

Moore is having trouble with two multi-pastor endorsement letters. One doctored to hide that it was written before this broke, the other with some pastors claiming they didn't in fact sign it.

Lost Soul mentioned that Moore's wife was launching an investigation. She was the one who posted the letter of endorsement signed by 50 pastors, but omitted three paragraphs and a line saying that the endorsement was actually for the primary election in August, not the upcoming one.

She is also sharing a false facebook post claiming that the restaurant where her husband is accused of assaulting the waitress in the parking lot only opened in 2001 and therefore didn't exist in 1977, and she's also sharing a post that says the yearbook signature was a forgery.

So, her investigation consists of trolling the internet for any fake news that exonerates her husband, and doctoring documents which she then presents as evidence. I'm sure Lost Soul will believe it though.

When you have a Realpolitik dude like Sen McConnell breathing down your neck saying you should withdraw, and you're in the same Party as he is, it's definitely time to double down on defiance if you're a Real Republican.

I most assuredly approve. Keep going, Mr Moore.

Give the misunderstood judge a break. Age is just a number. I got mistaken for a 20-year-old from 12-32.

I most assuredly approve. Keep going, Mr Moore.

I like it, too. I'm sick of the red states and their heritage being overlooked by the elites. Had there been no liberal frame-up of the good Mr. Moore, he would have won and there would have been a blurb on how wacky his views are, and that would have been it.

Now we get a good long look into just how nuts he is, his movement is, and his constituency is. We get to hear them say what a great guy he is other than these regrettable instances. And we get to realize that he's somewhere in the pantheon between Jim Baker and Jim Jones, and Alabama Republicans love him.

Although Dec. 14 is an eternity away, as it stands now in all likelihood he will be elected and then replaced by another Republican. And then the story will drop out sight forever. But the longer Moore fights, the more we get to see what the Republican Party is all about these days. It's good to be reminded that the party's problem isn't with his anti-constitutionalism or his craziness, it's with the complications his sex crimes present.

I have a hunch it's going to distance more people from the Republican brand (ie the shit show) than draw them in.

I think Moore's being exposed by Trump's people.

They want Sessions to go back to Alabama to rescue The Party with his head held high, rather than sacking him.

Then they can appoint a new Attorney General who'll do his job and protect Donald and Co from the Russia treason investigation.

Nice theory, but too elaborate for real life.

Sessions could only run as a write-in. Extremely difficult to win that way (although Lisa Murkowski did it.) The most likely effect of a write-in campaign would be a Democratic victory, and then Sessions would be neither AG nor a senator.

More likely Moor wins, Senate votes to unseat him. Sessions steps down from AG post to be appointed in moore's place.
