does Jim understand that Diamond and Silk do not know what they are talking about? for example, when they say Obama secretly gave $1.6 billion to Iran as ransom?

does he realize that it was neither secret nor ransom? that it was a legal settlement related to the proposed sale of military equipment to Iran that never went through because Iranian assets were frozen in 1979? that this is just a minor part of the release of Iranian assets totalling from $100 to $150 billiion dollars?

Jim, if you understood that, why would you post such garbage?

See Donnie shift. See Donnie shift from the Berlusconi phase to the Mussolini phase:

The 9th circuit has been overturned at a record level. I’ve heard 80%. I find that hard to believe but it could be true. They’ve made bad decisions. Decisions that have cost people’s lives. We’ll be coming out with a new comprehensive executive order by the middle of next week. Late next week at the latest.

It was an incredible melt down. It was a Jelly to the power of Annustated meltdown, with a sprinkling of Smoker.

It was the China Syndrome. I think someone even shot Jack Lemmon at the end of it.

The worst part is that it had nothing to do with politics. It was just him trying to discredit the press so he can lie with impunity and personal BS. Didn't ISIS just carry out their worst attack in months?

It wasn't a display of the strong competent and in control leader Trump would like to think he is. It was the petulant Rantings of a vain thin skinned megalomaniac and he would be horrified to think that's how people were viewing it.

I get that every new leader will try to blame anything that goes wrong on their predecessor ps for as long as they can that's normal, he takes it a bit far when he claims everything is a mess when it demonstrably is t but ok if he talks up the mess it gives him more cover, it is a tactic and I get it. But the lashing out at every comment and slight about him and the ranting about the media etc shows home for the vain fool he is.

There were reports that Trump himself felt energized by the event, and that he wants to hold more such press conferences.

I'd say a good 75% of the population of Ther West is either laughing or shaking their heads at the performance.

That's fine if Trump really is going to be isolationist, but he hasn't done anything in that direction except pull out of TPP.

Well, now I can say I've watched part of a Presidential press conference; the New York Times has a video of the entire conference on its Web site as well as a full transcript.

I could only stomach the first 10 minutes, during which I found President Trump to be sometimes boastful, sometimes whining and petulant. Anticipating that more of the same would follow, I stopped watching.

I think that's a big part of the Trump dynamic. The media makes it sound worse than it is, social media distills and amplifies that message, and then people watch and say 'oh, he's not actually that bad.'

But campaigning and running a country are two different things. When a 'folksy' press conference is the highpoint of your first month as President, it's not a good sign.

Don't you think a president calling out the press for fake news is substantive?

And don't you think that on the very next day, perhaps the most mainstream of mainstream media publishing a fake news report is relevant?

You libtards live in a libtard bubble of piss, and your media is LYING to you.

Is that really how you see things?

Well, it sort of reinforces the point that this news conference was him at his best, and the highlight of his presidency so far.

I suppose there are a lot of people who like the idea of Trump calling press conferences to swagger and tell the media how pathetic they are. He did it before the election, and he's going back to the formula again.

If this is what you want in a president, then it was a good day. But in the meantime, how many more people in the intelligence community, the Republican establishment, and myriad other beltway establishments and beyond has he further alienated?

Let the games continue.

Trump lied to the public during the press conference and was called on one instance. Hopefully the media will crack down harder on his lies.

No, you did.
You wrote that the press is lying to the public. The world's press all tell the same story, so they must all be telling the same lies. That couldn't happen by chance, so there must be a conspiracy.

I think that the press should just stop attending the press conferences and reporting on all this. Hit him where it hurts, no press coverage. Just do a small column, very factual, about what he is up to. And then turn to other affairs.

That would kill trumpy.

That would kill trumpy.

It would, but unfortunately it doesn't sell papers. His crazy sells papers so that's what they will continue to report.
I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

Nothing to see here.
OK.

It's clear that you didn't click on the Bloomberg link, or else that you didn't read it. The final paragraph is one in which the government admits that mobilization of the National Guard "was discussed," but "never taken seriously."

Can't you just imagine the discussion? "Hey, guys, how's about you giving me about 10 or 11 pages of stuff we could do to get rid of all these illegals? I mean, just some ideas we could kick around, nothing we'd take seriously.!
I enjoy reading NorthAmerican's posts. So well-written and interesting except for the dull parts.--Nines
